Good Morning Everyone!
Redsock, kudo's to you my friend. You're thoughts are in fact correct and it's time to make some changes. Only God knows when this will actually occur but you are so spot on. Thank you for voicing this postIf you want more info about the Younger Dryas event ... this explains it pretty well with most of it not being argued among the scientists ...
The Intriguing Problem Of The Younger Dryas—What Does It Mean And What Caused It?.
The temperature charts shown in the above link, should also point out some important info concerning the current now political topic of global warming/climate change. Most certainly humans do impact the climate, I don't think that is what the argument is about. How great of an impact we've had is where people get into conflict on. The "climate believers" would have you believe that all climate change is caused by humans... ignoring any natural trends that seem to be evident in the geological record.
If you look at the charts, look at the end of the "Little Ice Age" ( btw... technically, it wasn't a real ice age, that is just the nickname it's been given ). If humans are the only cause of climate change, why did the Little Ice Age glaciers start receding before our industrial age even got started? Also note, that the Earth was much warmer after the Younger Dryas event happened and up until the Medieval Warm period.
No doubt, we've got to start becoming more ecologically friendly and help conserve this Earth we all share. At the same time, don't fall for the dire predictions that the current trend of politically motivated "climate believers" would have you believe. Let's get off of fossil fuels and trashing the Earth... but also be realistic and ignore the naysayers that are blaming all of the climate changes we will see on just human causes.
