Hm, just noticed I have been made an admin of the Evolv forum, no comms from Evolv about it, so feel free to message me if you see spam attack. I just approved a queue of pending members, but other than those 2 things I don't currently intending doing anything else.

Try moderating on FB, it is an absolute nightmare sometimes.

Anyone know what it means over there when ther is a red astrix next tot the username in the who's online section, it is not new/pending I have only seen it a couple of times against normal members?

If your looking for forum software instructions you can probably find them on the website for the company that makes the software. Some years ago I found PDF files with the instructions for another forum, on the pages of the forum in the lower right corner it showed the company and the version of the software so it was easy to figure out and find it.
