Ok, finally began my Tibses (Tibsim? Tibsuses? Tibsi? ...).

I wanted a straight alumide mod in my collection, but didn't like how unemphasized the engraving was, so I gently applied some metallic silver paint to the lettering - and by "gently", I mean repeatedly butchered it.

I tried the same with the black using a brass/gld looking metal paint, but quickly crayola'd outside the lines. Although it would have been easy to clean up, I decided to go full metal jacket, and really like it.

Next up, a third coat, followed by some coats of clear matte spray.

What are you using to clean with? I use acetone and seems to work great.

I used acetone too, it worked fine, but it was a pain compared to the water based acrylics I am used to. The Cerakote clings like it is holding on for dear life. Also had to be real careful where the waste acetone wound up, it eats ABS for lunch.

One of those hot summer days, I just want to reach for a nice cold DNA30modSicle. :?: Here is my blue swirl/blot experiment which is still drying. Then 6 or 7 coats of poly should do it. Will post some close ups when finished. Think it shall turning looking cool, fingers crossed.

Yeah, I am slow finishing up these. Finally made it to my 7 day break from work so I can get some stuff done. Hope to have the last few mods finished this break.
