Willie, when I did alarm systems back in "the old days" I used to solder wires with a Bic lighter.
Yeah, and when I was a kid, I used to walk 10 miles each way, back and forth to school, up hill
both ways :nun:

Here ya go, note they have two warehouses in the USA, one east coast and one west and each one has thier own product page. Look down on the page and you'll see which one your on, this link is for the west coast. Soldering Station with Adjustable Heat Range (US Warehouse)

If you just leave that page up and idle for a few minuets a popup screen will appear with an offer for a little lower price, they tempt you into buying so always wait a while before adding to the cart. One other thing, HK is know for showing stuff in stock when it's not, doesn't happen all the time but it does happen. I bought a lipo from them, showed in stock but two weeks went by and it still showed processing, when I went to live chat and asked that's when they told me it was back ordered and they were waiting for restock from China but wouldn't give me any idea when they would be restocked. I asked them three times to cancel the order, they never did and finally sent it to me, about six weeks later..... I like the stuff they have and the prices are great but that's a crappy way to do business. Now I go to live chat and ask if stuff is in stock before I place an order. The live chat link is in the upper right corner on the webpages.
thanks for the info ,I'll go and check it out.

Acrylic paint is so darn easy to use and very inexpensive. I sanded my 3d print just a little and the color came right off. Used a foam brush to apply the paint. I will seal with polyurethane spray. Idea from mamu. Maybe next time, I'll try something artistic. I'll have to google it though. Haven't done anything since kindergarten

I have been mulling over how to use these panels from cloudmaker in a 3d print or silicone. Maybe just slide them into place in a 3d frame?

What have you guys done to the 3D printed boxes? I saw someone painted them, I've read others coat them in polyurethane? Any suggestions?

I like Polyurethane It protects the Finnish from fading scratching juice spills.
I put about a dozen light coats :) It coats the 3D print in like a case of plastic :)

Reminds of the wooden tables I've seen with umpteen coats of polyurethane. Seemed like 6" of finish before you got to the table top.

This video is not! what I had in mind. I use a rattle can, spray on thin light coats and let dry well in-between
The result? some thing like this,a durable plastic like coating. NOT at all like the video.

Sitting down, facing forward.

I walked those ten miles, both ways, barefoot, uphill, in the snow.

A question for you folks doing polyurethane coatings...what brand are you using? My experience with polyurethanes and automotive clearcoats is that they are prone to nicks and scratches. If the coatings are thick enough minor scratches can be buffed out, but deeper scratches and nicks are "forever". Incidentally, if you want a really thick coat, automotive clearcoat is the way to go. A light "tack" coat then a heavy finish coat.

Not there dogs! They had spike collars and were especially Big & Mean. One got a hold of my friends Coat hood and swung him around like a rag doll. By the time I hit junior high, I was the fastest sprinter in the School. I ran the 100 yards in 10.6 seconds. We were still on the imperial system back then
Lucky for most of us there was a little fat kid "Toote" poor kid got bite a lot of times. The H A's were no joke back then they were mean M F'ers
This is all true no BS :)
