One more image because I really like the look of the copper. Alumilite resin block for the main body with copper and gold pearl powdered pigment added. Copper is C110 half hard or H02 temper. These spacer/trim rings still need one more milling operation on them to cut a groove in their front faces where they meet the front and rear covers.

What battery are you using in there? (or planning to use)

The depth of the engraving varied greatly, so I lost some of it in the process.......

It's thicker than it looks in the pics then. It seems way to thin for a 1300mah battery.

It measures out at about 4" x 2" x 1.2". Definitely not small but feels great in the hand with the contoured front and rear covers.

I have this link bookmarked. It is a CASSA link that automatically looks up all your politicians.
Petition Your Legislator NOW to Support HR 2058! (Updated)
I delete CASSA's blurb and plug in my own.
I am sending my message every single day as part of my morning ritual, I just change the title every day.

I am a 57 year old middle class VOTER.

I was addicted to tobacco most of my life. I firmly believe that switching to ecigs has extended my life by years. Not only does scientific research show that it is 95% less harmful, but my own body (& my physician) tells me that it is less harmful.

Now the FDA is making it easier to buy tobacco than to obtain a satisfying ecig.

I urge you to support the
H.R.2058 - FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act of 2015

Products that existed before 2/14/2007 simply did not work, where current generation products DO work. As a result I have been tobacco free for 3.5 years. Please allow me the legal means to stay off of tobacco!

Sincerely,
Mike Petro

Pimped my Keystone sled with a 4 mm brass screw, some circuit board fibre glass, a spring, a copper contact from an old flash light and some epoxy. Could be better especially the spring, but a lot better than the standard contacts.

Can I ask why you modded the sled? Were you getting weak battery screen?
I'm playing on using a similar sled, just wondering if it was going to be a problem?
I have a similar dual sled in my 133 mod , I had to do some tweeking to get it to work good.
Now the batteries go all the way down to 3.6 volts before I get weak battery screen :)

I am getting lower sag in EScribe as the standard connections have less electrical admittance and yes fewer weak battery warnings. The standard connections can also rip the shrink wrap, are made from thin metal I think was chosen for it's springiness and you only need 1 spring not 2. This is more like when they realised the spring should not be a conductor with 510s and started making decent sprung 510s, plus a better contact area.

ETA IMO it is common with vape parts, partly a brand name thing and partly a lot of mod makers & mod making supply stores choose the thing that's easiest and quickest to fit. Like probably the most popular sprung 510 they seem to trust in the name and don't actually address performance and reliability.

IMO

Voltage sag with a single high drain 18650

2891723

Voltage sag with a Lipo

2891085

Certainly a single 18650 works, and rather well, but the lipo runs circles around it in terms of sag.

You might think the sag is somewhat offset by the softcell cutoff being 3.09v on a lipo, and 2.75v on a 18650. But.... the 18650 sags down to 2.75v when the unloaded pack voltage is around 3.1v +/-. And thats with a high quality high drain 18650, the sag is much worse with a mediocre battery like a HG2.

Well isn't this the cutest little DNA133? I put it beside the 3D printed ERM 900mAH for size comparison.
Have to say thou the 3D print gave me a lot of grief! The battery sled in particular, It was real flimsy
I did a lot of reenforcing to get it to a usable condition. for some reason the space between the fire button & the screen lead was less than usual, I had to put 2 bends in the lead :( Screwed up one screen in the process :( It was an all up hill build But! it's a pretty cool little mod :)
BTW the Avocado 24 is pretty impressive! So Far :)
