I have two bottles of liquid that I use. They are 16mg and 18 mg. To me they seem about the same and I don't overdose at all even when chain vaping. The strange thing is that where I get my stuff (kiosk at local mall) the highest that they sell is 18mg. I hear of so many people useing 24-36. I didn't even know you could get that high, but I doubt I would want higher than 18mg anyway.

I was a pack and a half a day light cig smoker and found that 12 mg liquid suits me best because I tend to chain vape most of the time. 3-4 puffs sit it down for 4 or 5 min and then 3-4 puffs again, repeat. If I'm using 18 mg liquid I add 25% of that amount of glycerin and if I have 24mg liquid I add 50% of that amount of glycerin. This cuts the strength and stretches my money farther. If it cuts the flavor I add flavor drops.

Most of us buy online, where you can get juice as high as ~50mg or so (ususally used for cutting down and mixing your own juice).

I can only shudder as I think about how much you must be paying for juice at a mall...

All up in your grill..
Can you explain how voltage and nicotine levels work with one another? How does this work?
Not too clear on the scientific aspect, nor have I ever gotten a straight answer from any experts either. All I can tell you is (based on my personal experience) That the hotter the device runs (that is the higher the voltage output) the less nic strength you need to get the same feeling. for example. in an SE 24 mg feels the same to me as 8mg in my device. I use a smoke51 duo. Since the nic strength actually refers to nicotine density within the vapor, I am assuming that higher voltage creates a denser overall vapor and thusly the more intense throat hit and overall feel of nicotine hitting your brain. The vapor looks thicker too.

This is something you will have to be a lab rat about as no one can tell you what is going to work for you. Just because person A who smoked a pack per day is happy with 6mg juice doesn't mean that person B who smoked the same thing is going to be happy with 6mg.

Example, my friend, who smoked less than I did vapes 36mg and is doing great on that, but I can't vape any higher than 24mg without getting a headache. I think I smoked twice as much as her but I can only vape half the strength she does. Get some PG or VG and use the juice calculator to figure out how to cut it to different strengths and experiment with it. Your body will let you know what is right or wrong.

That's interesting. I was bad in chemistry so how does this principal apply? One would think that adding 24mg juice to 16mg juice would increase the nicotine level.

Per ml.

1ml of 24mg
+1ml of 16mg
-------------
2ml with 40mg, or... 20mg/ml.

Its not a total, its per ml.

Edit: You can also buy propylene glycol or glycerin (either or both) and mix. Same applies, but now with 0mg of nicotine. So a 50/50 mix with 24mg/ml strength becomes 12mg/ml strength.

I have yet to see any numbers regarding how much nicotine your body actually absorbs when you vaporize it, however, so no such chart exists yet.

There's the NZ study, plus several forum folk have done experiments by taking home nicotine tests after vaping different amounts.

Interestingly, the NZ study implies that nicotine absorption from e-cigs is much lower than one might expect. Based on the table here, 16 mg/ml liquid delivers about one-tenth as much nicotine into your actual bloodstream as a manufactured cigarette (0.1 mg per puff for the cig, 0.01 mg per puff for the e-cig with 16 mg/ml liquid). And at least some of the people testing themselves with home nicotine tests are indeed finding that they have far less nicotine in their bloodstreams than they thought they would.

I started out with 24 mg/ml as well, I was a 2-3 pack a day smoker! Jitters, yes, for about the first 2 months. Jitters and constant hunger! (I had a kind of nervous stomach going on.) But I took it as new-found energy, it wasn't extremely uncomfortable, but I did get a lot of extra work done. After about 2 1/2 months was able to cut back to 18 mg/ml without a single hint of jitters. I was amazed. So give yourself some time. The hand-to-mouth thing should keep your cravings at a minimum. I stopped cigarettes 100% on day one! I was using about 5-6 ml of liquid everyday, too, now have cut way back on that also, more like two or three now, and 25% less nicotine. I can do this! My plasma/urine/saliva cotinine level (the by product of nicotine absorbtion) is at 100-200 ng/ml cotinine, which is the equivalent of being exposed to second-hand smoke. That is in contrast to an estimated 3000 - 5000 ng/ml cotinine as a smoker. That is incredible to me. Check out the Thread for Blood Nicotine Level Testing

I spent $100 on a cart, 2 attys (last 3-4 months each), 2 batteries (last 8-10 hrs each, charge in 3-4 hrs), and 1 bottle of juice (normally $40 looks like it lasts me about 3 weeks.) Also the batteries have a lifetime warrenty as long as I buy at least 1 bottle of juice a month. I also get dicounts each time I refer someone to them.

I like the fact that I can go get what I need when I need it, and not have to hope the shipment comes on time. Also if I have a problem I can talk to someone in person. It's worth it to me, and I'm still only spending half of what I did on analogs.

If it's worth it to you, that's all that matters. And I don't doubt the convenience factor.

But I personally can't justify that much when I can buy the e-cig kit for $35, and a 30ml bottle of juice for $9. Waiting 3 or 4 days for it to arrive doesn't bother me, because I'm buying in advance, and stocking up. In the event of a ban, I'm going to be set for at least a couple of years.
