My experience is that the higher the nicotine, the better. I don't seem to get the same nicotine out of e-cigarettes as I do cigarettes. Others have problems overdosing like this, so pay attention to what your body is telling you.

buy a few cartridges of different strength (they are cheap) to see what works for you. IIRC marlboro lights used to have "0.8mg nicotine" printed on their packets, whereas most full strength brands had 1.2mg, so you might find the e-cigarette easier to adjust to than I did.

I smoke a pack a day of Marlboro Lights. What MG level should I get for my E-Cig?

This forum has also talked about how great the liquid is. SO what level of liquid should I get? Is there a general rule of thumb?

My advice would be to start low. If it's not cutting it for you, move up. But always better to start low. You don't want to over do it. Just my opinion though.

My brother smoked the same, one pack marb lights a day....and he started with med strength nic....I think it was 11 or 12 mgs. I had some 24 mg here that I wasn't using so he took that and mixed it half and half with some glycerin. He smokes one analog a day now....the one after his evening meal, which he says he just can't seem to "let go" :)

... E-cigs do have a bit more diluted dosage of nicotine than regular cigs, but are absolutely a healthier alternative.

I disagree, we seem to absorb more nicotine with esmoking although it may take longer to affect us. Many people here have reported overdose. Some of us believe we have increased our tolerance of nicotine since stopping smoking.

There is no scientific proof that esmoking is safe, just opinion.

It's a different habit so many of us don't vape in the same way we smoked, I take a few draws every couple of minutes, I'm hardly without an ecig. Some people take a few draws of high nicotine vapour then have a break and some, like me vape constantly. I mostly use low nic juice but have a couple of drops of high now and then for a spike.

Potency is measured in mg per ml, eg 18mg per 1ml of eliquid. The average amount to vape is 2ml per day.

To replace a 20 per day cig habit of 0.8mg nic per cig with 2ml of eliquid you would need to use 8mg eliquid.

I purchased some 16 MG bottles from puresmoker.com. These are labled as "Medium", however. I seem to constantly vape and I'm not getting the normal signs of too much nicotine as I normally do with regular cigarettes (bad headache, nausea). So I don't know. Seems like I'm getting a little less from these.

Keep in mind I've only been vaping for the past 24 hours, though.
