hi guys, i wanted to say after reading on these forums and finally getting what i "think" was enough info to make my first purchase i really want to thank everyone especially the long time users fortaking the time to help out in the newbee area of these forums thx guys.

i havn't been this excited in anything since i was a kid as i am to the thought of being able to kick analog smoking and actually feeling healthy and god forbid to be able to goto the gym and run on a treadmill.....ok im getting to carried away now.

my question is this, do you think that by going cold turkey 24-36 hours (bout as long as i could make it) before my kit arrives would help trick my mind into accepting the e-cig more then just switching over normally? my thought process is if i give my brain the choice between nothing and the e-cig maybe the transition would be easier? i might be over thinking it but i refuse to loose this battle so any tricks might help.

thx again.

p.s
i bought the double ego kit from cignot for myself and my wife, also got extra batteriesx2 extra attyx2 2 sets of blank carts and extra charger along with 40ml of asst juices, so hopefully i am set to begin when it arrives.

Welcome to ECF, shawn! I'd be willing to bet that as soon as you get your first vaping session started, you'll put down the analogs! That's what happened to me when I got my Riva. I smoked until I got it, and then something almost magical happened once I started vaping it. I haven't touched an analog since!

Great choices on your kits and all the trimmings, BTW! It's always good to see someone paid attention in class ;) !

Hi Shawn, Welcome

There's no need to go cold turkey before your ego arrives. There's a learning curve to using PVs, but the great thing about switching to vaping is that it doesn't have to be a horrible, painful process and there's no rule that you have to switch over immediately. Some do, others of us take a little more time. Stick with it through the learning curve. You'll find that as you find the proper nicotine level and the right flavors for you, that vaping is just way more pleasant than smoking. Good luck and let us know when your kits arrive! and ask any questions you may have.

In all honesty, I didn't have the intention of quitting analogs when I first became interested in vaping, but when I got my 510 starter kit and finally got some e-juice, I just naturally didn't want to smoke analogs anymore. I just so happened to not have bought a pack a day prior to getting my kit, like you're planning to do, and I think it somewhat helped since I was craving nicotine by that time. I think you would naturally get over analogs by doing that. The anticipation of waiting for your package to arrive may just add to naturally quitting analogs.

BTW, I upgraded to an eGo so you're starting off with a great kit. Oh, and welcome to the forum. Keep us updated once it arrives.

Hi Shawn! Welcome. This is the best place ever for knowledge and straight forward info and help.
Truthfully, it's easier to just wait for your PV then to make yourself miserable. I'm with Banjo...just didn't need them anymore after I got my 510. Went to an eGo and just moved up to a Super T P-18 Whoohoo!

Don't get discouraged....it's a ton of information and tips. We all started the same way.

Great tip I just got today and it works......let up on the button and keep inhaling another couple of seconds. You don't get that burnt taste that way because it doesn't over heat.

thx guys for the replys and info luckily we have the forums to keep us busy waiting on the mail, btw is it just me or is the usps tracking site the most horrible thing ever? ,lol

It's not just you and yes, sometimes it is the most horrible thing ever. That's only because it's like watching water boil...it just doesn't boil fast enough!

Hi PSL,
I reckon that because you are so excited about your kit you will give up the evil weed straight away. That's what happened to me!! I was sooo pumped to get my kit that as soon as it arrived i have not touched another stinky stick since!! That was 3 months ago next week.

Even if you do still have a fagaroony or 2 don't worry about it.. Enjoy your eGo :)

+all of the above. Good choice. I wouldn't go cold turkey before. I think that's going to put a lot of pressure on your first vape. It may take a little "getting used to" for everything to be perfect. If you're having a nic fit, it'll go worse. Just let the pv do it's work, and the rest will fall into place.

It's hard to really explain how easy it can be to walk away from cigarettes. I didn't even set out to quit, and I smoked for over forty years, and I haven't missed them for almost 5 months now. Magic is the word. Miracle. Let us know.
