I received a mini kit in the classifieds the other day. It came with 2 ICR 18350's. They are unbranded and do not say that they are protected. Are they safe to use? Also, has anyone tried the trustfire flames, do they fit or are they too long? Thanks

I only use AW IMR 18350's because they are the best. You don't need protected batteries because the LT has built in protection.
Even if it has protection, most vendors state to use only IMR's. I have since ordered some AW's. I don't think an ICR is the "safer chemistry" like the IMRs. Please someone correct me if I am wrong. The person from the classifieds stated that the ICR were the safer chemistry.
not sure about the chemistry, I always buy the aw imr's and that is what I use in my mini lt and have great performance.
ICR is your standard LiIon battery (the ones we say should ALWAYS be protected). With the exception of the panasonic hybrids you should be using IMR batts in your LT. The drain is very high (depending on carto and voltage selections) and only an IMR will safely support that.
