Also just ordered a Lavatube and had no idea there were so many types of batteries for it. Great, more I have to learn about. What do they come with? Are they protected or unprotected and what's the difference. Do some perform better or just last a bit longer? So much learning and to think I started all this just browsing the ecig the guy at the mall had.

hahahahaahah!

I know they can take unprotected batteries, because thats what i am using. but not sure of the rest.
but i sooo hear ya on the never getting a handle on all this ecig biz. i've been learning since april, and right when i think i have a quarter of it licked', new stuff comes out , with new learning curves.
I totally stopped explaining to people who saw me vape and wanted to know what it is or where to get it, i just give out cards to them, from whatever cards came in my packages of ecig stuff.

The AW IMR 18650 Batteries are the best. They are out of stock on the 2000 mah ones but have the 1600's in stock. The 2000 are supposed to be in stock Feb 2nd.
Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products.

It looks like Provape has them in stock. AW Rechargeable Batteries | AW High Drain Batteries | Best 18650 Batteries | AW 2000 mah high drain batteries

Here is another site with good prices AW Batteries

Not hijacking this thread but taking it sideways a bit...

I am getting the LavaTube Mini which uses 18350 batteries.

1) I am a noob when it comes to batteries, so pretend you are talking to a 5yr old :)

2) These LavaTube MINI 18350 are in Kit form with a brand-x charger and brand-x 18350

QUESTION: Does anyone know the maker of the LT Mini battery ?

Are they ok to use, or throw them away and buy something "more-safe" and then, which ones?

I've seen much talk about 18650 batteries in the LT full-size; but almost no dialogue about the LT Mini (appreciating it is newer on the market and US Vendors are just selling them in the last week or so).

thanks

I have No Clue what type of 18350 Batteries come with a Mini-Lavatube because some of the web sites show Red ones. Others show Orange ones. Still others show Blue ones.

But I can tell you this because I'm holding a Mini-Lavatube in my hand right now.

If you buy Any Battery longer than 35mm, the End Cap will Not screw down all the way. I tried a TrustFire 18350 1,200mAh battery (37mm Long) and it works but the cap isn't seated flush with the tube.

Where as a AW IMR 18350 700mAh fits Perfectly.

BTW - IMR Batteries have a Lower Internal resistance than Protected Li-On batteries. So they are supposed to work more efficently in VVPV's when the output voltage is high.

The IMR batteries are different chemistry than protected Li-on's. They can output more voltage, thus making high voltage possible in a VV mod using only one battery. They are unprotected so they can still be overcharged. But with my charger they are not being overcharged, no matter how long I leave them in there.

However, I still get nervous. And will not charge them unattended. Even if they are not fully charged, I take the charger out of the wall when I'm away, or asleep.

The cool thing about IMR's and the LT is that you can check the voltage of the battery in the LT. And unlike protected Li-on batteries, you can still use IMR's in the LT even when they are not fully charged.

I would suggest to Everyone no matter what type of Battery they are charging to Never leave them Unattended. Ever.

I would also suggest charging Batteries in a Metal or Glass Bowl/Pan so if you do have a Meltdown or Fire it can't spread Easily.

When a charger and a Battery is doing what it was designed to do there shouldn't be a Problem. But.

Much of these Batteries and Chargers are Churned out with Little Quality Control. Retail Price many times Overrides Quality and Unfortunately, Safety.

Not sure what you mean in your last Paragraph? I can check voltage with a LT running Li-on Batteries and I can run them when they are not Fully Charged.

Just wondering..Most seem to be afraid to leave PV batteries on chargers at night. Perhaps for good reason. But do you leave your cell phone charging at night? There may be a big difference, but I don't know what it is.

I haven't ran any Li-on batteries in the LT, so this is news to me. What I do know it that I couldn't run Li-on batteries in my old mod without the light on the charger turning green first.

As far as KeysBum question...All I can say is that there are millions of people charging their cell phone unattended, without any problems. And the battery is being charged in the cell phone (with a charger that most likely came with the phone).

It all comes down to quality control. We are not charging our mods with the batteries in them (unlike our cell phones). We are taking the batteries out of our mods and charging them in totally separate (foreign) chargers. There are probably thousands of ecig users doing this, compared to the millions of people charging their cell phones. So this is why we have this forum to discuss, show, and explain all the possibilities of ecig potentials, along with battery charging issues.

I just bought a L.T. From Apollo at 6pm last night and got an email that it shipped a little before 7pm...just had to say how crazy fast that was before I ask, if the battery that comes with that kit is there own battery or does anyone know what brand it is? I should have just added another battery when I ordered the kit, but didn't realize it only comes with one. So I suppose I could just order a couple from Apollo, it does ship for free at $8.95 each, but before I do, just wondering if I should go another way...
also, a little off topic but is has a 510 thread, comes with a 510 atty, and then recommends buying a 510 adapter so you can use with ego atomizers. I'm a little confused, ego attys are also 510 thread...can someone explain this to me please? Thanks!

The ego adaptor is for using things that require a cone thread such as the Ego T atomizer.
