My old (v1) 5v GLV is finally ready to be replaced I think (too much trouble with stripped threads on the atty connection), so I'm considering buying a whole new GLV2, but am torn between the mini and the 5v versions. Is the mini + LR atty close to the same as the 5v?? I really like the compactness (is that a word?) of the mini, but don't want to give up the great vapor of my 5v GLV...I'm willing to give up a little, though. Any advice?

I was in the same boat and decided to get the Mini AND I purchased a GLV2-5v Head for my V1 (just need to drill a small vent hole in the battery end cap to use the new Head design). That way I have "both" voltages to use and both different sized "toys", lol.

It should also allow me to try 6v vaping by using the Mini (non resistored) Head on my V1 should I get the itch to try it and feel like purchasing different batteries.

Not received yet Yeti..... I believe its shipping out this week & then I have the slow-mo shipping and dreaded customs wait to Canada that is usually 2-3 weeks for me from the USA.

I'm not sure HOW I'll like the mini honestly due to my fairly large mitts, but was granted the opportunity to trying one through winning the last GLV contest so looked into the situation more and chose some workable options that appealed to me and ordered the GLV2 5v head in addition.

Looking forward to playing around with the different ones & will have to report back once I receive everything.

Hey yeti - a BIG capacity 18650 (2400mah) 3.7v battery + LR atty will give you vape comparable to to a 5v/regular atty device, BUT I have a feeling that a single cr123 (~750mah) + LR battery won't deliver the same OR as consistant of an experience because of capacity vs discharge rules which I cannot explain.

Even so, the mini is probably the best looking in it's class, and I would rock the LR.

I can sure contest to the long shipping to Canada for sure. They still have not updated the USPS shipping info.... Canadian post is worse than USPS that is up in the air now. lol

BTW Greg I am sure glad you like the juice. Oh wait you didn't, lol to much menthol for you. Put some cinnamon in it that will take care of everything. lol

Crimmy,

Local postal outlet just called to say my GLV shipment will be in my roadside box tday !! WOOT !!

"ANY" menthol turns me off, but as mentioned I took your offer to pass on to a "friend in need" who I'm confident wouldn't dare complain, lol (if he knows whats good for him haha), and for THAT I thank you greatly for the opportunity.

I "may" try a hit or two of adding some chocolate flavouring for a chocolate-mint taste just for S&G's.... heck, why not !

Ended up ordering one of each so I can decide for myself!

The difference is the wattage. Wattage is figured by multiplying the voltage times itself (squaring) and dividing by the resistance of the atty coil. If you have a 3.7 volt battery and a LR atty at, say, 1.5 ohms you get about 9.127 watts. If you're using a 5 volt device with a 2.5 ohm carto like I do you get an even 10 watts. There's a noticeable difference. I also use a juice mix of 40% VG 60% PG so I get a big enough cloud of vapor to do review videos.
