So I got two of them last month, and have been really happy mostly. One got a burnt taste when the tank was nearly full, which I found odd, but a month out of a single head isn't too bad in my book. The burnt taste got worse and worse, unlike my Novas or other tanks, where it usually just goes away.. But anyways, I put on the replacement head, fill it up, and whoa.. zero draw.. like trying to suck a 5 pound ice-cube through a straw. I looked it up as best I could, but only found two youtube videos, one in german (don't speak it), which never seemed to address the issue, and the other was a kid who just says to poke the holes with a toothpick..

That didn't work regardless. I'm using these with an ego-twist battery. As I mentioned, both have been superb for a month, and this is the first time I've run into any issue.. the draw prior to replacing the head was really loose before. What gives??

just went through the same thing with a 2013 pro tank.

i rebuilt something to the tune of 12 or 13 heads, cleaned everything, inspected all the heads, parts, o-rings and grommets all while simply kicking myself in the rear. i used nichrome, 32Ga kanthal, 28Ga kanthal, organic cotton, sterilized cotton, and both types after being boiled. each time i rebuilt and tested, i did something a little bit different from the last. i even went as far as to putting different amounts of torque on the heads and knurled bottom in an attempt to right the situation.

it all started with a change in vapor production for me. next thing, the tank was gurgling more and more often. soon after, i was burning the little white rubber grommets on the bottom of the head. that tastes quite nasty, by the way and brings on thoughts concerning the actual safety of vaping vs. the cigarettes that were slowly blackening my lungs prior. burning rubber can't be good for inhalation....

well... today, i think it all came to a head. (no pun intended)

when putting on a new head, the glass in the center of the tank just started spinning in my hand. a light bulb went off.

i must have been getting air in through the sides of the glass the whole time. i think the cinnamon roll i've been vaping did the glue in on the ends of the glass. that would explain everything.

no air from the 3 holes at the bottom would give me tough toots with no draw.
would also keep air from cooling the coil thus allowing the grommet to get burnt.
air drawing in from the tank itself would force juice into the bottom at a fierce rate. i've gone through probably over 30ml of 18mg/ml to 36mg/ml in the past few days. there's juice splatter everywhere.

a couple times i felt a crackle when threading the heads into the knurled ring. i thought to myself, i said "self... these threads seem to be shot". i'm now under the impression it was the glue letting go and the glass moving ever so slightly inside the barrel while i was putting everything together. the threads are fine.

on the other hand, i'm sitting here with my PT II tooting away with a 3.2Ω coil @ 12 Watts very happily.
