What concerns me, is that this is how stuff like this starts.
I think keeping an eye on what kids do is up to parents, not government. I don't disagree that at face value this is a good thing, but that's face value. Selling analogs to minors has been a law for as long as I can remember. I've never been able to go down to the store and buy my mom a pack, let alone myself when I was a minor. Now we have smoking bans that reach further and further. And in minnesota they are going hog wild with smoking bans.

I agree. What bothers me is that this was "slipped" in. There was no warning, no heads up. Yes, it's a good thing not to sell e-cigs to minors. I just hope I don't wake up some morning to find that e-cigs have been banned all together.

I too, tentatively think this is a good thing. I agree we cannot relax and need to keep a watchful eye on how things progress. What I find interesting is that ALA, AHA and ACS 'of Minnesota' actually broke ranks and supported this legislation which runs contrary to the "National Policy" of these organizations (which is posted on here somewhere) and is very clear about NOT EVER supporting "No Sales to Minors" legislation. I would love to know more about what this actually means. Also of interest is that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota supported this legislation as well - (I am certainly NO fan of insurance Companies, but there is no denying their political clout when it comes to health care legislation).

They were sneaky. Without much notice the bill was amended to remove any reference to electronic cigarettes. All this bill did was expand the definition of tobacco to something that CAN describe e-cigs. The bill also secures funding for a study on tobacco for taxation purposes.
