Minor explosion in my pipe :-/

Today when I was smoking my DSE601H pipe suddenly it puffed and the shaft/tip allmost came of down my throut.

Tasted a bit funny after but just for a short time. I use it lika a drip tip and it works fine but I wonder what risk for flameable gases it is?

That was just caramelized juice popping off the coil in the atty. Pretty common.
