Well, I received my MAP last night, and so far, really like it.

I do have one problem. When I vape, the tube fills up with vapor!

I use Clearomizers all the time, and this never happens.

The problem is, if I leave the vapor in the tube, it gets stall and tastes aweful. I have to take two, three drags AFTER taking the initial drag on my ProVari, to get rid of the remanant vap in the MAP.

Anyone have this issue? Solutions?

yeah had that problem, the silicone cap on top of the ce2 isnt seating properly.put the map on you battery and push down on the top cap of the map, careful not to push in the metal tube.maybe a little wiggle. the top delrin cap should come down to the top of the slits for the wick. should fix it.

Not sure I'm following you.

My delrid cap, on top of my MAP, is TIGHT against the plastic tube... I tried putting the MAP on my ProVari, and pressing it down, but when seated on the ProVari, the MAP is almost tight against the device itself... there isn't really room for the MAP to move down, no matter how hard I press from the top. The delrin cap on top also isn't going to go down, as it's firmly tightly installed in the tube!

I did try unscrewing the MAP slightly from the ProVari, while keeping it on the device, and then pressing down on the delrin cap, but again, it isn't really moving as it's tightly seated in the tube! Still getting vapor left inside the MAP. :( I even hear the gurgling sound when I vap, after turning it upside down, but still get the leftover vapor inside the MAP.

I have found that when it starts to fill up with vapor in the tube that if you turn it upside down for a second to saturate the wicks at the joint just before you hit it, it don't seem to fill the tube with vapor as much. I think it forms a little bit of a seal at the wick that way.

Tried your idea. Well, I found out that I should NOT allow the ProVari/MAP combo to fall upside down! Unlike the clearomizers, which I can turn in any direction, for however long I want, and it doesn't leak, the MAP does leak! I dripped three, four drops when I turned it upside down, from out of the drip tip. Not a big deal, but I am glad I found out not to turn the MAP upside down!

Still getting vapor inside the device, after vapping, however. I even hear the gurgling sound after turning the MAP upside down, but still get vapor inside of MAP leftover.

ok if youre getting that much juice in the metal tube, silicone cap is not sealed. try to push the threaded part of the ce2 up more into the bottom part of the map.it should be completly flush with the bottom.if its still leaking into the metal tube, you may do as aaron suggests and take top cap off, clean and try to reseat it on the silicone cap.the gurgling sound is the coil flooding. this can happen but usually a couple good drags and it clears right up.keep me up dated, we will getting in working correctly, i carry mine on my icon in my pocket and an extra in my case with no leaking.

The first half of my first day with the Map Tank and I didn't keep it upright it would flood and leak through the battery post. Even when I kept it upright, I would still see vapor inside the map. I took the top cap off, put the Map on a 510 to 510 extension I bought from COV with the MAP, and carefully pushed the down on the Map. It didn't take much and I made sure the top cap was seated properly. Put the top delrin cap back on and it fixed the problem completely. I can now hold the map upside down without a hint of flooding or leaking.

Trying this. Again, my "battery" is my ProVari, and there's very little space when the MAP is screwed onto the ProVari (which, generally, I'm glad about! Don't really want/need space between the MAP and my device when it's working)

I can't move the top delrin cap AT ALL! It is on there TIGHT, and I'm somewhat worried about messing up the MAP after waiting weeks to just get it! I did try pushing down on the metal tube the drip tip fits into, and it did go down slightly, but didn't solve it.

You wrote: "the top delrin cap should come down to the top of the slits for the wick"... the derin cap is about as far down as I can get it! Can't really see the slits with the cap on.

Shel - I have to agree with luv2vape. It's probably the silicone cap (with two holes for syringe) that goes on the cup. You may want to even try taking off the top piece to reset it but it can be difficult.

Yeah..... you said a mouthful! It "CAN" be difficult, and again, I'm just worried about messing this thing up.

Any video's that show how to remove the top delrin cap?

May have to wait until I've completely emptied the juice out, then try to remove the top delrin cap. Sounds like that's what the problem is.

Should I be able to pull the delrin cap off of the top, with juice in the device? Would that mess up the CE2?

Thanks

Stupid question alert....

On my Clearomizer, there is a white, thin ring which I take out BEFORE I use the needle to inject juice.

Does the MAP have this same ring? When I look through the top of the MAP, I see what looks like the same white ring, but I couldn't remove it easily, so I assumed (maybe wrongly???) that I inject the juice through one of the two holes in that white ring?

Is this correct? Guess what I'm asking is, I believe there isn't a white thin gasket that needs to be removed from the top before using a needle to fill the MAP, correct?

Thanks

Shel

I removed the top delrin cap with pliers. It's scarred now. The problem people are trying to explain is that the silicone seal is not seated between the stainless tube and the atty cup. If you have a syringe needle cover, you can remove the silicone cap and align it, then re-install by pushing it straight down with the syringe needle cover. Macguyver taught me well.

I removed the modified CE2 XL and installed a regular CE2 XL. It makes the driptip sit flush on the MAP. I cut 2 tiny holes into the body of the CE2 XL with a Dremel cut-off wheel to allow the juice passage from the MAP to the CE2 wick. Works well, but I don't like the tight fit of everything on the MAPs, personally. It's not maintenance-friendly.

Just wait til you have to replace the CE2. You're gonna lose your mind (hopefully not lol)! My MAP is semi-retired, now, as the $3 tank mod works identical and is ALOT more easy to maintain/replace cartos.

Look at the videos on the COV site. Watching those gave me the confidence to play with the MAP. Like you I was a little afraid to break something I've been waiting a month to buy, but it pretty robust.

My top delrin cap had a very small gap between the tube and bottom of the cap which I was able to get a fingernail between and slowly work around until the cap could be removed.

I removed my delrin top with about a 1/3 full tank, without a problem.

Guess all I needed was to hear that I could remove the top with the MAP slightly filled.

Got the delrin cap removed, and was able to seat the CE2 firmly in the top delrin by pressing firmly!

No more trapped vapor, alls well in the world! (Well, except for the financial crisis, unrest in the middle east, possible gov't shutdown, trouble in Wisconson, but, well... never mind...)

Thanks to all for all of your help!!!

I'm glad you got yours working! It's a fine vapor machine when everything is working right. I didn't have any experience with the CE2's so this is all new to me as well. Happy vaping!

I only turn mine upside down long enough to wet the seal, not long enough to make it leak out, just a quick flip.

If I turn mine upside down, the top derlin cap falls out. - The tube above the juice fills with vapor when I'm vaping no matter where the silicone ring is positioned. And, though flavor is sometimes good, it usually tastes a little burnt.

It does put out quite a lot of vapor and is miserly with my juice (specifically considering the vapor production).

I'm going to put a new ce2 in it to see if that takes care of the flavor issue... but as it is, this is absolutely not a portable device with the top cap falling out so easily and juice pouring out of it if it lays down, so it is of limited usefulness to me.

If you get with Bruce I am pretty sure he will send you out some new o-rings which should fix your issue...his customer service is top notch.

Something isn't right with your MAP, if the top delrin falls out that easily.

Mine is now working excellently! I can easily remove the top delrin cap, by simply using my fingernail, and working around the edge of the top delrin cap and slowly lifting it up. Once the top delrin cap comes out, filling it is a piece of cake! No need to use a needle and syringe.

As for the problem of vape above the juice, for some reason, I haven't had that issue recently. Perhaps the fact that I press down firmly on the top delrin, after refilling, and try to make sure the CE2 is snug inside the delrin cap has solved the problem, but whatever has solved it, it hasn't reappeared.

I now can easily fill my MAP tank, and take it with me all day... haven't had a drop leak out yet! (I do keep it upright, but I've even tried to turn it upside down, while at home, over a paper towel, and kept it upside down for about 30 seconds, and not a drop has leaked out!

Try drying off the delrin cap BEFORE you install it. Someone in a video said that if the delrin cap has juice on it, the juice acts as a lubricant, and allows the delrin caps to slide out even when you don't want them to.

Good luck! When these are working correctly (and it hasn't been THAT hard to get 'em to work right), they are really great!
