And now you have made it obvious to whoever posted that incorrect information what you think of them (chatty) as opposed to what they actually are (a friendly and experienced vaper trying to help out a new user). The OP got the correct information from the other posters. You are not the info police.

Nope, "chatty" wasn't a descriptor for one person, it's for a culture. And it isn't a bad one either, chatty has its place, geeky has its place and correct has its place ;)

leannebug linked to this very relevant post, please check it out: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/forum-news/103318-new-cms-website-section.html

Not only do I support the OP, but also pray to the forum Gods to fix this via more rules or tougher mods.

What is the penalty for posting information you thought was correct, but wasn't......eStoning?

I would like to state that the primary job for moderators is to ensure that the community runs smoothly. We work diligently at weeding out the tons of spam, calming down the irate, and dealing with troublemakers that disrupt the ECF "family". Some moderators to include me do offer up advice and tips to help out the newcomers, but alot of the time members of the community offer up the needed help a member is looking for. We are here to help each other with something we all love. We cannot prevent "misinformation" , but in reality posting misinformation isn't totally bad because what that ends up doing is open up the opportunity to help another member. Alot of the times it isn't really misinformation, but another way of getting to the same result.

Now as far as Health issues we have a sub-forum where alot of questions are created and replies to them.. We do monitor if any replies that could be outright dangerous to the OP... and point out the KEY disclaimer that if one is having health issues to ALWAYS seek professional advice from a local practitioner.

In closing, like leannebug pointed out (see quote), We have in the works to centralize most of the common questions that people have when it comes to vaping. One thing to keep in mind is that even up to that moment of change we have alot of dedicated members here that are more than willing to share their knowlege (and have) and are a big asset to the community.

Welcome to ECF

LGD

We TRY and be friendly (although it's often hard to convey the spoken words into the written), so I do hope that comes through! If you stick around long enough, you will see that is the case.

What you've stated, is one of the reasons the forum is under going drastic changes. The "powers that be" have come to realize that (as a newcomer) it's difficult to navigate and FIND all the wonderful (and vast!) information here at ECF. They are revamping the site to "start" at a new portal.

The new website will have links and sections to the correct information. It should be laid out in a professional and easy to navigate layout. This should help the noobie vapor and make learning about ecigs a whole lot easier! The forums will remain the same, but you will link to them from the main portal.

I'm having a very relaxed day, sitting around on a rainy Labor Day. I just thought, hey, it's good day to get censored, hand slapped, and banned in general. So, although I will defend to the hilt your right to post anything and your right to your opinion, I have opinions too.

MY OPINION is that this answer:
"no...it's ethylene glycol that is in antifreeze, propylene glycol is what is the carrier for the flavoring in ejuice. They are two very different chemicals."

is essentially CORRECT when taken IN CONTEXT of the original thread and question. It does not supply misinformation. The answer doesn't negate using PG in other anti-freeze formula nor in THE NEXT MOON LANDING, or maybe as a SOLVENT for BULL-.... while making "green" methane gas for clean power. It wasn't an exclusive answer, but rather an inclusive answer. The answer could have been phrased:

"no...it's ethylene glycol that is [the dangerous glycol] in [some] antifreeze, propylene glycol is what is the carrier for the flavoring in ejuice. They are two very different chemicals."

this doesn't exclude it (PG) from being used in, say, some procedure by a proctologist while removing stray insects. Nor does it exclude airplane de-icers. I don't see it as misinformation.

That's just how I read it (the reply in question). :2c:

My doctor prescribed PG to me for many years I took a couple tbsp daily. The reason they put it in antifreeze was because the old antifreeze was killing too many pets. Cats loved licking up the old antifreeze that leaked onto the ground and it killed them in a very slow and painful death.
