I really think the Webox was a huge marketing scam. Who is Missy anyway? Never seen her here or anywhere. It makes me mad that so many people were taken in by this mod. And, they are still being sold! I still have a resentment against one vendor who is still advertising them. Mine worked a total of 3 days, was told to send it in with $15. Pfffffttt. Really? Please people, if you're looking at these, look elsewhere. I've got a bunch of mods and not one single vendor asks for any money to fix a mod that broke within 3 days. I've had my Chuck for almost a year and Jeff has never asked for a penny to fix the switch. If you want a box mod, go with the Ali'i or the Journeyman. I love my JM. Quality materials, fires every time and makes huge plumes of vapor with a great th.

I too was sucked in with the wetbox....what a terrible product. Sold it within a week of getting it. As for Ken's box mods.....let me tell you. My little sister is THE best thing I have bought yet. I am actually thinking about getting another one. Since using it my egos and all other batteries(including my chuck) sit in a drawer unused. You will not be disappointed!!!

Whoa whoa whoa...let's back the train up here.

@OP: You never bothered to mention WHAT was really wrong with the myriad of WetBoxes you have supposedly burnt through. Switches? Wiring? What?
1. Were you using only approved atomizer/cartomizers?
2. Were you caring for the device, or abusing it?

I have had my WetBox for about 3 weeks now. No problems whatsoever, and I have been using it with a Cisco LR 306 (read: not-approved atomizer). Aside from getting the needle in the correct spot for my atomizer to fire (again, I'm using an unapproved atomizer), the device works great.

Now, that being said, I won't speak to the likes of the Reo or Ali'i...because I've never had one. But at 1/3 of the cost of those, the WetBox is a good affordable option. I can pretty much buy 3 WetBoxes for the price of a Reo-mini. The argument about the cost of the components is pretty silly. Are you telling me that someone shouldn't make a profit off of their work? Missy (whoever he/she is) builds and sells them to eCig vendors. They in turn mark-up the price so they profit as well. Think of it this way...General Motors makes plane engines. If you're buying a plane from a plane manufacturer, would you expect to pay cost for the engine? I'm sure it doesn't cost $138 or whatever to build a Reo-Mini, and I guarantee it doesn't cost anywhere close to the $180 or whatever to build a Ali'i VV. Why aren't we arguing about the mark-up on those devices? You pay the price, because you want it, and can't make it yourself. Same thing with the WetBox. I can't solder, so I pay the price.

I do have a problem with claims that any item is garbage without ANY validation as to why. The OP never stated what was wrong with any of the WetBoxes he had. I could say any PV is a piece of garbage without any information to back it up, or any claims as to why, but that doesn't mean it's a bad device.

VERY well said. I suspect the OP embellished the facts. I mean really.....who orders SIX of something that's not working for them and then orders a SEVENTH and leaves it in the box. I've had 3; one medium use and light use on the other 2 and they all work just fine. I gave one to my SIL and she loves it. However, it is a lightweight plastic mod and has to be treated as such. I have no doubt some people have had issues with the Wetbox, but every mod has it's weaknesses. If a mod doesn't meet your needs and requirements, order something that does.

Ummm,

In all fairness to BasilRay which his videos are always informative and honest. Yes the OP never did mention the problems associates with his boxes.

But, adding epoxy around the switch to prevent liquid from entering the switch is a "fix" not a solution. From the get go, these boxes were not made to last any length of time, because of the switches alone, even with a KR8 carto and later with a 510 carto.

Notwithstanding, many folks have used these boxes outside of their intended norms, to include but not limited to certain unscrupulous vendors promoting their use with LR attys and IMR batts. There is absolutely no way that a 0.5A switch can withstand that sort of abuse.

Personally, I would not have bought 6 of 'em, but hey that is just me. Amidst the negativity of this subject, nothing has happened to ensure increase the longevity of the wetbox.

sorry..... wrong

Whats wrong the fact that the switch they used in these boxes is rated at 50 mA while a atty is pushing through nearly 2 amp worth?? See 50 mA <<<<< 2000 mA

Honestly the wiring isnt even that big of a problem if you use the one that comes with the boxes. Ive been using my 5V boxes for nearly 3 months without having anything happen. Its down to that little tactile switch which is if not 95% of the problems people have with the unit.

LOL, no it was my post that was wrong not what you guys are saying. I thought the OP was using two different user names.

I have to agree that the wet box is nothing like my other 7 box mods that are so much better quality. I used mine for a few days and now it sits in the back of my drawer.

You really ...... me off so badly if I was anywhere near you guys I would show you what abuse is.

Calm down eTough Guy...do you often threaten people who don't believe you or disagree with your point of view?

One bit of advice: The sky isn't falling where ecig supplies are concerned so you might want to hold off on buying 1/2 dozen of everything just in case it does.

Well, this just shows that you can not expect to receive a $100 mod when you pay $40. most of the mods out there were designed to have a special feature of some kind, and from what I see there are going to be shortcomings from all mods depending on what you are actually looking for and not looking for in a mod. I have not seen one yet that does everything every vaper wants.

Speaking for myself, I would not have purchased more than two of these mods if I found them to be continually defective or non-functioning. You get what you pay for, or at least we can hope so, but you always have to take into consideration that you are purchasing a MOD, which is something most likely hand constructed for the most part and subject to some failures, if not more so than those PV's that were designed on computer and constructed more than likely on proprietary assembly line systems.

There are any number of reviews on these forums for almost every mod out there, and it would be a good idea for anyone to browse through these before purchasing any mod as they tend to be pricey.

I am not trying to put anyone down here, but buying that many of a mod because they keep not working. Well...

I think I'll just stick to making my own mods for my own use. Seems the best choice of all.

I've had mine for a little over 4 months now, and it got daily use for 3 months as my main device. I have only used regular KR8 cartomizers on it, but have predominantly used high-drain 14500 batteries. I had problems with it leaking and gunking up the switches, but a bath in isopropyl alcohol cleaned it up, and I found that using a paper-towel gasket over the needle assembly to soak up any wayward juice prevented any further problems. It's no longer my everyday device, but it still works well. Maybe I was lucky, but I feel I got my money's worth - it was a relatively inexpensive introduction to the world of juice-feeders, and the needle feed is perfect for cartomizers.

The problem with some reviews, they are first impressions only and some with no follow up. It is not how a horse comes out of the gate that counts, it's how it performs in the stretch that wins the race.
