I've had a WetBox on my list to add to my other mods, but given the problems & what seems to be design and switch flaws, I think that I will pass. I have a REO, REO Mini, and Phidias - all "auto or bottom feeders" like the WetBox, but without the problems outlined here - "using a napkin to collect any juice that spills out," "the napkin mod," "liquid got in my switch early on due to a faulty bottle," "periodically cleaning the switches," "it's definitely not a perfect device, when I'm on the go I need a spare battery, a spare cartomizer and just to be safe a spare wetbox, so 2 complete Wetboxs". Maybe I'm missing something, why save money on a cheaper mod if you have to endure all of these problems - spend a little more money and enjoy your vaping without all of the hassles.

Like you, I've got a Phidias, a REO, and a mini REO. All three are great vaping devices.

Ok....I did check out the rest and I have a question. The battery that I got with mine from Vapor Flow says BDL imr14500 600mah 3.7volt and it is BLUE. The ones on COV that are listed as high drain are RED. I would like to try out my new CE2's that are 2.5 ohm, but I don't want to short the Wetbox. In that thread, they specifically say not to use high drain batteries. How do I know if this BLUE one is a high drain one?

The pic on VF of the high drains are also RED....guess I will email them (EDIT)

IMRs = High drain.

They don't recommend high drain or IMRs with the wetbox because the switch cannot handle the current drawn from an LR atty, regardless of what some vendors might say. The switch is underrated for the application even witch normal attys. The switch is 0.5A and the minimum that should be fitted for our applications is 3A but then, you wouldn't be able to fit a 3A switch in such a tiny package.

The Wetbox is a great inexpensive introduction into bottom fed mods

Have to agree with you on that. We have to adjust our vaping techniques to take advantage of the different Mods and this is a good start on that journey. The Wetbox got me thinking about feeder systems and led me to a "no pump" tube feed that I use everyday.

Well, you tried...our 808 with cartos is working good...as someone else said...all mods are so different...I like to give a week or so to a mod...just to make sure ...sometimes there is a learning curve..sometimes not...I just received a mod....which to me has a learning curve...but I am getting the hang of it....pretty cool... :)...my ocd will make me overcome the learning curve.... lol...while I don't use the wb....(not mine)...it is a nice bottom feeder for a beginner(money wise too)...and so are some others if u wanna pricier one...all in all...mods are different...one might need a longer trial period for certain ones...I did! (jmo)

Mike..maybe you can send it in for repair...if its only been a week....just a thought...sorry it didn't work for ya...

After I pay shipping from Canada and repair and shipping back...not worth it....Tossed the 808

I also have a 510 Wetbox which has been working flawlessly for 3 weeks occasional use...we shall see.

Just wish the switch was more durable on this thing...would be willing to pay an extra $10 if they put a better switch on it.

UPDATE - I figured I should check in on this thread I started over a month ago, since many reviews don't include any follow up. I am still using my Wetbox, and so far, some of the concerns I had have not materialized. For one, I've not had any leaks. Maybe the excess hot glue around the switch has protected it, and maybe the fact that I decided against LR cartos or attys helped protect it. Regardless, I have not experienced the dreaded switch failure I've read so much about. I still don't like the cartos, though. I tried a generic brand a week or so ago, and at first I thought they were lasting longer than the genuine Joyes, but no luck. Three days and the vapor is so diminished that they're not worth messing with anymore. I tried cleaning through boiling, but didn't have much luck. Dead is dead; dying is dying.

But I have built up enough confidence in the Wetbox to make it my full-time PV. I've retired my Blu knockoff permanently, and my RN4081 sits in my backpack as an emergency back-up, but as of now, I am 100% Wetbox.

My overall impression of this device has improved enough to bump my initial rating up a star.

UPDATE - I repaired my first wetbox that died, 22$ and 25 days of shipping back and forth (!!), been using it for 7 days as my main PV, I'm not using a bottle and pressing it, the liquid doesn't go to the top even tho I have the right needle, most of the liquid just leak and fall back into the PV, so I drip, I have a soft cover on the cartomizer so it's easy to take it out and pour a few drops, sometimes it still leaks... There's a new type of glue that Missy's been using, it's really good up to now, it holds firmly, we'll see in a month if it's really good tho. I got some new cheap trustfire batteries of 900mAh from dealextreme, last much longer than the 600 mAh, I'm really happy about them. I will not send my second unit for repair which is also kind of dead, it works but at like 1 volt. So 2 wetbox's + repair is about 130$, hey that's the price of another bottom juice feeder, which I'm now saving to buy.

My overall impression of this device has diminished enough to say don't buy it :D

I have been using my 510 wetbox for a month with no issues whatsoever. I take a small piece of paper towel, fold it over and stab the needle through it. It does a great job of catching the occasional stray drip. I clean my cartos every night with the hot water- blow method and let dry overnight. They last 2-3 weeks before they die. I buy the generic cartos from Clouds of Vapor, 7 bucks for a 5 pack. This box is going literally non stop for 15 hours a day. My metal drip tip gets so hot I have to take it off and swap it out to keep vaping. I use the high drain 14500 batteries from Clouds of Vapor also. They recommend it for the wetbox, so I dont know why some say not to use them. Since I vape myself silly all day long, I end up swapping them out about every 4 hours. This thing has held up like a champ. Even if it would have only lasted a week before it died, I would have been out 50 bucks, the same amount I would have spent on analogs in the same time frame. Just in the last 3 weeks it has paid for itself 3 times over on what I would have spent on analogs.

LOL! I guess it just goes to show that a cheap mod is just not going to provide consistency across various users. Maybe that's the real issue with the Wetbox: No review, good or bad, is able to provide a truly accurate overview of this device. It's just going to be a different experience for everyone who buys one.

With the $$$ you've spent so far, Zurd, I feel your frustration for sure. My opinion of the Wetbox might have improved a bit, based on my own experience so far, but if and when it does die, I don't think I'll pursue any repair or replacement options. My Ali'i is one it's way (or will be soon), so as long as my Wetbox holds out a few weeks longer, I'll be good.

BTW Bones - I don't get why I am not having your kind of luck with cartos. Maybe I am just too particular about vapor and throat hit. Do you find that they produce the same after 2-3 weeks as when you first pop 'em on? To be honest, only a couple of mine have truly died to the point where they didn't produce anything. But the rest dropped off so much that I just wasn't getting any satisfaction from them. But maybe that's typical. I dunno. But at least they work for you, and you're happy with them. That gives me hope that eventually I'll hit on a way to get the same results.

Yeah I've seen you on the Ali'i thread, this is one of my next purchase too, you're lucky to have ordered one! Lemme buy a lots of flavors for my DIY then I'll buy one, let's hope I can make it my christmas gift to myself in december. I think you're primarily a cartomizer type of guy like me with your wetbox but you have experience with atomizer that I don't, so quick question if I'm still right, the Ali'i is only atomizer so doesn't it bother you or are you just gonna make the switch to an atomizer? What's your plan when you get your Ali'i?
