When we lived in Alaska, I lived in Juneau and hubby in Anchorage because I wouldn't move...we are a great team but we also both do fine on our own. One year he called and was upset that he was going to miss our anniversary and he knew better than to just send me cut flowers... I could hear it in his voice that he was more upset than he was letting on. I sent him this song... yes... I love my anime and manga... he makes fun of me for it too :D He has always been my biggest supporter and I have been his. We have been married 35 yrs
Here is the translation or close enough...Anime Lyrics dot Com - Hajimari no Kaze - Wind of Beginnings - Saiunkoku Monogatari; Tale of Saiunkoku - Anime

I ran track in high school and was one of the four members of our mile relay team. For one of the first meets, I offered to drive and and I had a tape with this song in the car. The song became sort of our unofficial theme song and we would actually shout, "Amadeus!" when we broke just before running the event. Weird, but it worked for us: in the first year that we had a Track and Field team at school, our relay team made it to the quarterfinals of regional competition.

The Fixx has been one of my favorite bands since they put out their first album, "Shuttered Room." This single from their second album, "Reach the Beach," grabbed me from the start--and I remember singing this song to myself while on a month-long road trip with my parents in the summer of 1983.

Great band with a unique style! I saw them back in the early 80's at a club called Visage, which was the local hangout for eons. When they performed "Red Skies At Night", They fired up about 20 red lasers aimed at several disco balls in the place and hit the fog machine. It was simple...but phenomenal visuals at the time!

Good times indeed...

Great Falco tune!! I saw the movie "Amadeus" too back around that time frame. Very cool. I occasionally blast Falco on the stereo still today, along with the tune "One Night in Bangkok". ;)

Wonderful! :)

I think I saw someone post a Sheryl Crow video a while back, and I've been meaning to share this with you folks... :)

This was one of Keven Gilbert's bands, and where she pretty much got her start. She was his g/f at the time, and he wrote a lot of songs for her (and with her) then she turned around and stabbed him in the back!! (along with some of the other people in the band, too...)

You can see her playing keyboards in this video, in the background by the wall...

Sadly, Kevin Gilbert left this world much too soon... R.I.P.
