This sort of ties in with the above post but also goes with some times from prior to that. Along with my experiences there are also some of the things I seen a few of my buddies go through.
My disclaimer so nobody gets their feelings hurt or thinks I don't like American women. As a whole I do not have any problem with them or think negatively towards them - in fact, I have known quite a few that were very nice. But like any large group of any society there are those few bad apples. And we all have our preferences as to what and who we like.

Continue with the regularly scheduled posting of some good tunes.

#1. When they're debut album (Minimum Wage Rock and Roll) was released in 1980 it blew me away. An African American Rock and Roll Band that poked fun at racism ("there goes the neighborhood, the whites are moving in, they'll bring their next of kin, oh boy" and "I wanna join the ku klux ...."), described a sexual encounter as a basketball game ("tell the coach"), and infused rock with rhythm and blues and new wave. They got their semi-big break in 1982 on the soundtrack to 48 hours, and I had the pleasure of working security for them at a Concert they performed on the MSU campus in 1983 and partied with the band afterward - and they could party. Unfortunately, despite a couple of comeback attempts they never reached the potential they displayed on their debut album. While every song on that album was fantastic, here's arguably their most popular song from that album:

#2. In college, whenever we cleaned out dorm rooom/apartment, we would put on Boston's debut album as loud as we could. If I was coming home from class and heard Boston playing out the window, I knew to take my time or just sit outside and listen until my room-mates finished cleaning up. IMO, it is one of the greatest albums ever recorded (song for song), and if you've never read about how Tom Scholz, an MIT graduate with a Masters degree, decided to try and create perfect music, it's worth a read.

Well, my last entry or what could have been many, many more. Thanks for the contest.

23 years later he* still contacts me now and then... he used to sing this in my ear - so romantic! And then he was gone. What he left in his wake took several years to heal and left me a different person. I had been a trusting soul. Looking back, maybe I should thank him - I never again naively believed that if somebody tells you they love you that they actually mean it. Maybe this is a lesson a lot of people learn the hard way...? This song evokes some strong memories alright, but it was a loooong time before I could listen to it again and not have the bad ones come flooding back. Now it's just a beautiful song.

*- 'he' is not Chris Isaak! lol Just wanted to clarify that (yikes!)

Duncarron - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have listened to this group for years, pretty much since they started. It is their music I play when on the treadmill. I got to go see them this spring and must say that most I have seen in concert were fun but always said I liked the recordings better... not these guys... so much better in person.

I listen to all sorts of music... there is very little I don't like.

1. Led Zeppelin is my all time favorite band. I really can't pick a favorite song of theirs because I hear one and think "that's my fave", then the next one comes on and it's "that one's my fave". This one was one we listened to a lot back in my teen years.

Not an entry....I was at a small upscale restaurant outside of Austin last year, and Robert Plant was there dining. I didn't recognize him until he walked by our table on his way out. I was in such shock that I missed my opportunity to throw myself at his feet and make a fool of myself

I was wandering around one day like I did sometimes, just walking through a White Castles parking lot and these girls pulled up in a VW micro camping bus & opened the door & said get in we're going camping and I'll never forget the song that was playing and had never heard B4 and is my Fave one hit wonder! Oh & I ended up camping with these 4 girls and along with many other folks we met along the way, we camped out the whole summer, just like that and all over the place & up into Canada & many other places, so every time I hear this...WOW! :2cool: :vapor:
