DymondWood - Rutland Plywood Corporation

Here are some alternative wood like things,,, scroll down and you will get a better idea. they look like stripes until you work it and then the swirly patterns emerge as you go from layer to layer. I think the diagonal cut gives the nice wave pattern.

Dymondwood Turning Blanks and Pen Blanks | River Ridge Products

can generally find some nice images on an image search

Yes, I've seen material like that...some is even impregnated with acrylic swirls, etc. Hmmm...I may have to play with that a bit. :) Thanks for the info!
