I know there is a lot of stuff on the internet about this already, but I have a slightly different question. So let's say I buy these batteries
amazon.com/gp/product/B00QKD4V4C/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ANK8P1OMW3VD1

and it turns out I need 3 so I buy the same 2 set again.

amazon.com/gp/product/B00QKD4V4C/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ANK8P1OMW3VD1

Is that considered mixing? I did notice that under SDI they have a special code that is 4 character and is on all of them. Mine is 2FB1 and is on both of the batteries I bought. I'm pretty sure if I buy another 2 they will have a different one that is on both of those. So can I buy another 2 or should I go and buy 3 and never use the 2 I bought.

1) Normally when pairing, or marrying batteries, you buy them together, charge and use them together, never breaking the pairing, this makes sure they are balanced, of the same make, same model, same usage and same charge cycles on them. An older battery will be weaker than a newer one, so you do not ever use them individually or buy them individually. A weaker battery puts undo stress on the stronger one, and generally the most stressed battery is the battery that will fail under high stress (high amps, which cause very high heat internally.

2) Ebay and Amazon are generally frowned upon to purchase batteries from, however Torchy the battery boy from the UK is the UK's battery testing expert and sells on Amazon, that would be the only vendor on Amazon I would trust.

If you live in the US or Canada, these retailers are authorized authentic resellers/wholesalers
illumn.com (iLLumination Supply)
Liionwholsale.com
IMRBatteries.com
orbtronic.com
RTDVapor.com
