@ Vego, I think most folks are using it without the spring but while the spring looks like a place for a poor connection, I can not see a difference with it in or out

Thanks, dw. Seems there's no fiddleing then... just pull it and vape. Wasn't sure if removing it would result in battery rattle. I'll try with, then without and see for myself. I do like the idea of an adjustable spring though. Just concerned about voltage drop... especially with the added resistance the current has to fight with the use of the adaptor(s).

Shim the switch. remove gold top, add Ego to 510 adapter to existing 510, mount your Term and vape away

I do love conscise, to-the-point instructions! :)

I've got the MKB adaptor coming in, and I absolutely adore that gold top... so I'm going to go that route first. I'll have to get an Ego-510 though to try your prefered connection later on. Thanks again, dw... and to all the rest of you guys for the great info in this thread.

Now, anyone willing to post a picture of the shim-switch mod, would be doing a great service to us MKB noobs. Fact is, for me, this will be the first bottom/side button device I've ever owned.

Picture #1 is disassembled MKB-TS switch, copper shim is next to last on the right side.

Picture #2 shows copper shim on the shaft of the buttom.and ready to assemble.

You need a very thin shim, other wise it will stick and vape without you, even when you think you got it right give it a good workout before vaping with it to get it loosened up good.
I got the idea from upsetter21

Right on dw! You beat me to it - saved me the effort on a promise to Vego & gave me credit too. Thanks!
Vego: look at the earlier posts, we also stated a decent source for the shim-stock & made a thickness recommendation.

Also, note there is a spring "orientation" - dw has it right in the photos. The uneven (or cut) side should go into the switch body first, and the flat side should face the button. At least on mine, it seemed to slant the action if I reversed.:2c:

I didn't even notice that the ends of the switch spring was different but I sure did notice that the battery spring ends were not "flat" so some time ago I heated the last coil on the end that contacts the battery and made it flat. Of coarse now it can only screw into the axis one way.

Thanks for the info, upsetter. Really appreciate it.

MKB from DV arrives Tuesday. MKB adapter from Stormy's arrives Tuesday. Like clockwork! Got the Term V2 assembly and some echowool coming also. I'm so damned psyched for a MKB/TermV2 setup w/ echowool! All I need now is the shim stock and an Ego-510 connector to try dw's connection later and I'm set. Oh yeah, I should probably try to get the brass rod also for the post mod. I'm a little concerned about the post I'll be getting, as one of the guys mentioned earlier in this thread that their post was fixed. I think that was with the gold spring version, if memory serves. I really hope mine is floating. The basic version DOES have a floating pin, right?

It was the one purchased by a member in Malaysia that had a different 510 socket.

Here is MKB-TS with no gold cap, with ego adapter and a Terminator mounted. The air control is fully functional in this case and it mimicks GGTS connection in appearance. It's pretty solid on there this way.

Here is a link to the one that appears to have a stationary center post:

I sent vapourtrend an email asking if there were any plans to make a base for the terminator that will screw directly to the mkb.
The answer was unfourtunatly "no,we have no plans for that"
Does anyone know if the base used with the GG and odessious will fit?
I have a feeling even if it does they will be made out of unobtainium, like I found the mods to be,but at least there would be hope.

It's here, it fits, I have two in transit now for $36 US dollars. I expect to recieve them with in 7 days or less. (for 2), and in stock now
THE GOLDEN GREEK MODS :: Odysseus Accessories :: Odysseus GGTS Base - e-smokeguru
Also you can use an Ithaka GGTS base with it's basic feeder ring, I have one of each of these on pre-order from COV, $13 each.($26)

Paying at e-smokeguru is really quite simple using the "Moneybookers" option though at first it appears difficult.

So, just to get this straight in my head, to use this Oddy/ggts base dw links to above on the Term, after screwing your cup-assembly into the new base, you'd just remove the whole top section of the MKB - gold top and all(510 part) and screw it directly into the top battery tube section?
You have to remove the gold cap and any adapters that you may have installed, then just screw it on.
It screws into the threads that the gold cap screws into on the collector tank.

Look at the pictures in this post, they are with Ithaka and a MKB-TS but the Term with GGTS base will mount the same way.
