Anyone got an idea on how I could take off my top cap of the collector? It's stuck and can't get it unscrewed. My atty is also stuck! When I screwed em in, they went on smooth so I know I didn't mess it up.

I've tried putting it in the freezer. No luck. Soaked it in wd40. No luck either ;(

That's weird that the atty is stuck. Unless I'm completely mis-understanding your situation, the atty being stuck is the key to your problem. With an atty screwed in atop the gold top (if that's the setup you're dealing with), there's no way to take off the top cap of the collector tank, nor remove the gold top. The adapter, threaded to both the post on the collector tank and the connection on the atty, locks that whole assemply together when an atty is attatched. If you had tried to separate the 2 parts of the collector tank while the atty was attached, that would cause a lot of unwanted torque on the atty threads and may be what messed up the connection.

Wish I could help with a solution, but I can't - the only thing I could possibly imagine would be maybe trying to tighten up the atty again, and seeing if that somehow re-sets the threads so you can take it off. Talk about a long shot though, huh? Sorry.

Hey vego, sorry I totally confused you guys. I meant to say the bottom of the collector. Basically where the floating brass pin sits, that's the part I'm talking about. And yes I understand that in order to take off the gold top, my atty would have to be off. That's the problem also, the atty is literally stuck on there. I've tried tightening both first just to see if it frees it up a bit but nothing. I seriously was so frustrated last night cuz I kept at it for so long with no success. I just didn't want my money to go to waste ya know? I feel like I've tried everything to get these to unscrew. Not gunna lie, my hands feel so sore cuz of trying so hard to get these thing loose

Let me also add that when I screwed everything together, I always made sure that it wasn't too tight because I was so scared of something exactly like this happening. When I first got the mkb a few days ago, I thought the gold cap was stuck also, it was a pain in the but to get it loose, it finally budged after trying 5 minutes. I was wondering why it was so tight and when I looked at the gold cap, I seen that it comes with a rubber seal in it. That probably the reason why I was so scared and made sure not to tighten anything tooooooo tight.

ive tried tightening both the atty and that bottom piece with no luck :(

i placed it in the freezer for a few hours (heard it should shrink the metal a bit) then tried tightening and then unscrew, nothing gives. both parts wont even move.

i really think im done trying, its so frustrating! i mean like i said, at least i got the stealth cap so that still works, but its not the same. i really loved the the way it was with the telescope tube and the top parts altogether.

Anyways, thanks a lot for the suggestions guys! Its definitely appreciated.

1st: take apart as much of the AGA-t2 as you can, should be left with a base and post main thing remove the tank.
2nd, use two pairs of locking pliers. Use an old cloth or denim to prevent scratches. clamp one on the Aga base, other on the gold ring.
3rd: twist.

I found locking pliers at Home Depot for about $3.50 each.. They are a god send for these situations.

I feel your pain, Bro. You'd crack up if you saw how skittish I was handling this thing, as I really don't want to mess it up too. Just like you, the first time I tried to take the gold top off, it wouldn't budge. I wrapped it in paper towel and used plyers to get it loose. I'm an idiot... I should have used a towel or something else because I scratched my gold top.

Now, have you removed the MKB pin (under collecter tank) in your bottom picture? If not, were is it??? With my aga t flush mounted, the pin extends out about 5mm. If it's still in there mostly all the way up, I don't even want to think were that adapter pin has ended up. :?:

Have you tried rubber gloves? Maybe set up the Atty with a low res coil and fire it up to warm up the connections and threads then using rubber gloves undo them.
Rubber gloves, this rubber stretchy thing used for rehab patients after surgery, you name it im sure ive tried it

yeah i tried locking pliers as well, i had a few in the tool box and it still didnt work. it actually scratched it up already but that was the least of my worries. I also took apart the atty but put it all back before i took the picture.

Haha yeah i made sure not to lose that pin brotha. Im still a little upset but and update!! I got a hold of Eric from DiscountVapers which is where I bought my MKB-TS and told him my situation. He's asked me to send it back for him to try and take it apart, if he can't, he said he would take a look to see if it was a defect, if so he would replace my whole unit! I could care less which one happens, get it off or a new one would be wonderful. He did however say if he thinks its not a defect he would just send it back. Either way, I'm thankful that he's willing to work with me here! I'm sure a lot of these vendors would just brush it off.

Its would just be a waste that I spend 70 dollars for this AND my atty is stuck on there which was $20-25.

thanks for the help fellas!

***And before I forget, a big thanks to inganeer, he messaged me asking if I'd like to send it to him so he could try taking it apart just to help! I can't say thank you enough for the kindness bro! Ill keep ya in mind but lets hope Eric can get it off or replace it!

keep ya fingers crossed for me fellas!
