Mod down :(

My istick 30 went belly up, on me. Worst part is it happened first thing in the morning when I had places to be. I was actually stopping at shops, tank in hand, asking "hey you got a mod I could put this on for a sec? I haven't had a hit in hours".

Some googling showed me the "atomizer short" is normally from the O ring under the pin wearing out. Might be able to pull it apart and replace it, but am staying FAR from all my tools. So..... went and grabbed an Innokin MVP 3 Pro (60watt) for now. Seems to be a decent mod, so far. Any opinions on it?

No opinion on your gear, but always have backups for your backups. I use fairly inexpensive Halo and Aspire gear, so it's easy for me to say I have extra everything everywhere I could possibly need it. But even if you do prefer more advanced vapes, it might not hurt to keep a few egos, coils, and extra bottles around the house and at work for just such emergencies.

Also, did you have the same firing issues as I did(and many others) with the Maraxus? I had to loosen the plastic spacers on both the firing pin and the top cap connector to get it firing properly!

Lol, You didn't check your PM from last night? Yes I opened the air back up on the DH and fitted the chuff cap. It hits like a cannon. And that's on a mech. I'm kinda scared to put it on the Snow Wolf and run the wattage up I like it so much I have re-wicked it three times to change flavors and haven't yet gotten around to putting a build in the Plume Veil. I have also had similar troubles on the Maraxus, and used a similar solution. Frankly, it is one of my least favorite mechs. I never know if it's going to fire, or if I'm going to have to break it down and tinker to make it work. But my real problem is my Hammer. It's having a voltage drop issue I have not yet been able to find. Operator error, I'm sure, I don't think the mod is doing anything wrong. I suspect I have treated it improperly somehow. I should have thought to ask you, I know it's one of your favorite mods. It used to hit hard. But it barely makes a coil glow now.

I did see the message last night, I knew you liked the chuff but I wasnt sure if you liked it enough to keep it on there.

I agree 100% on the Maraxus. When it fires right it hits like a champ though. If I knew it would work every single time it would b up there with my faves, but alas it does not and is therefore a showpiece.

The Hammer seems to have an issue with the "top cap"(in quotes cause its not really on top of anything lol). The spring inside the connection piece is really poorly built and should be replaced with a decent conductive spring(two wrapped into one another works the best). Its a pretty easy fix, there are lots of vids on how to do it if my explanation sucks. Another issue is with keeping the battery tube clean, inside and out, about once a month I clean it out as well as the 510 connectors, sometimes more if I find its losing its kick.

I also just remembered a problem Ive had a few times. The bottom piece of the battery tube is an insert, if it comes loose(doesnt happen often and most times it needs a really good smack for it to happen), the connection can be weakened or even cease altogether. You will know when you take it out for cleaning if thats an issue or not.

No worries at all! Im assuming its the spring inside the connector more than anything. Especially if its never been changed. I changed mine out on both of my Hammers as soon as I got them.

I'm sure you're right, although the spring is not broken, or at least the bottom pin where it contacts the battery tube is still springy. I never even took the insulator out from under the top cap, never mind replaced the spring. Until you wrote that, I thought it was is one piece and pressed in, so I didn't mess with it. Where'd you buy the replacement spring?

I found some pretty decent little springs at Home Hardware. Im not sure what metal they're made of(almost a brass like color), but they were the right size and I got like a dozen for less than $2. Gonna have to get more soon though, I like to keep replacing them bi monthly just to make sure my hammer hits like one, especially since Im not sure what metal it is.

Im starting to wonder though, since you dont want any resistance for the flow of electricity, would Nichrome be a viable option and just make my own? I think I might have to research and find out if thats a bad idea or not.
