Hi all....
This question has probably been asked many times....

I'm new to this forum, please be gentle...I was a hardened smoker....then I gave up 2 years ago....started the silly little e cigs....then onto a Cirro2.....which after 2 years of vaping it I'm getting a little bored with it....to say the least.

So...I thought to myself lets upgrade to something more modern and better....I clicked various sites and was totally bamboozled with the market...

Innokin....Kanger.....sigelei....Aspire....and many others....

So my question is...what mod starter kit should I get....I'm mainly a mouth to lung vaper.
I wish to spend between £40-70.
I'm leaning towards the Aspire Premium Kit with mini nautilus...
But the Innokin Coolfire 4..is not far behind...and the VTR 2...Aspire Odessy...
So please add your thoughts....there maybe some I haven't even seen yet..
Thank you for letting me be a part of your community, I have read several posts with interest and hopefully I will be able to contribute in due course.
Regards
Chondzoresk...

Welcome and glad you joined.
I'm leaning towards the Aspire Premium Kit with mini Nautilus...
Good choice but a little pricy for what your getting. I would go with the Eleaf Istick 40TC (have one) which features a built in battery at 2600mAh---my charge lasts all day, USB charging (no battery recharge station to buy and can vape with usb cord while charging if desired).
I drip, so I have no first hand experience with tanks other than the mini is popular.
With a tank you need to really understand where things can go wrong. You will need to read the instructions carefully. No fill it and start vaping.
1.8 Ohm is a good coil size for your type of vaping.
Just, hit "like" at bottom right hand corner and I (or someone else) will get back to this thread so I can read your answer.

My New Year's Resolutions are to..
1) be nicer (wow, that's gonna be hard) and
2) be more precise in my answers and
3) be less polarized (black and white) about products.

So.
1) Welcome. Great to read your post. :)
2) NO, do not get a kit that uses any sort of eGo battery... not when mods are so much better.
3) The "premium kit" is nice but in comparison it's not a good buy for money or performance.

How did I do? :)

Luckily I stopped at nice! lol Now for the OP:

Hitting the mark right off can be tough. I've gone through more mods and tanks than I can shake a stick at. Do you want to learn to twist coils and wick them yourself? That opens up a whole new can of worms if you do. Most modern vapers are aware our right to "modernly vape" are being threatened severely. If you are feeling adventurous, I would look to get myself insulated from upcoming changes both in the UK and the US.

Tell us how far you envision yourself taking this hobby/addiction and I would be better able to give you a "what I would do" suggestion.

That is a really important consideration. Good to point that out.

At this moment in time, I probably wouldn't buy an iStick. I have iSticks (sure) but some of the major players in the market (Kanger, Aspire, less so Innokin, strangely) have got into some wonderful mods recently with replaceable batteries.
I paid about the same for my 40w iStick (£8 less) as my eVic mini. Both are from companies I do not trust a great deal, but £ for £ the eVic mini is far better.

My serious back up stuff is mechs. I bought the eVic on the assumption it might not outlast the batteries I am using in it.

I can't see mods being caught up in the TPD May 2016, so tanks are a consideration too.

For a mouth-to-lung vaper, you probably want an Aspire Nautilus tank or a GS Air. As to mods, for fixed battery the Cool Fire 4 is an excellent choice, with the Evic VT being an good alternative. If you want a removable battery mod-- I prefer them for a wide variety of reasons-- The Kanger Subox, the Sigelei 75, the Sigelei Mini Book, the Cloupor Mini Plus, the Smok Treebox and the Evic VTC are all in the 40-75 watt range, all one-battery mods, and handy gear.

Djsvapour, thank you....i will steer clear of the Aspire Premuim...

I found a comment about it from all our favourite vendor. (Sarcasm... yellow card :( )
"A combination of two great devices to form one great kit. The acclaimed Nautilus Mini and the consistently good Carbon Fibre batteries. Both great e-cigarette devices from Aspire."
It doesn't form a great kit, it forms a kit. A great kit would give you the option to get those BVC coils up to 5.0v for some serious vapage... and wayyy longer battery life.
Aspire is consistently expensive, because they protect their prices.
I would call myself an huge fan of the Nautilus/BVC and a reluctant buyer of Aspire.

Ok now I've got a better idea what you want. I would still go with a replacable battery type mod. I didn't like having a mod sit on the counter cause the battery needed another 4-5 hour charge. With "external" battery types I flip in a new cell and vape away. I have the IPV D2 (and the D3 in my mailbox as I type), I feel it is a good mod that can grow with you. The Kanger tanks seem to be some of the better options in my opinion and can be very reliable. With all of the sub tanks from them (bar the nano) you can get a rebuildable head for it, if you decide to go that route.

I must admit I thought the aspire Premuim was a bit pricey...(cheapest in UK is £40 on Amazon) but it was the nautilus mini tank that got me interested...all the reviews I have read were so positive...

Amazon is good these days. Saves shopping at the 'other' shop which I don't like.
I have 3 mini Nautilus. One is a bit ropey in the base. I get the coils from Fasttech, 15 at a time. There's a method to get hold of them that way; you need to get some credit from Fasttech. I shall buy 50 towards the end of April, just in case the EU/UK work out that they are for illegal tanks... unlikely, but not impossible.
When they first came out, 12 watts was the number. The newer versions can go up to 16 watts with thin (ish) liquid.
My day to day vape. Can't be making clouds at work.

If you are considering the Evic then I would suggest taking a look at my favorite mod: Presa TC75W - Wismec Electronics Co.,Ltd

I cant tell you just how comfortable this is in my hand, and how easy it is to fire with just a squeeze of your fingers. No fumbling for a fire button here, ever. Right or left handed, no matter which way you have the mod facing, it just works. As Wismec is in cahoots with Joytech, if you compare the features I wouldn't be surprised if the boards inside were nearly identical.

Comes with an Ego adapter so you could use the old ego style tanks like the K1 etc, which work rather well on this for flavor and a decent cloud for something that size, although you will not be entering any cloud competitions with that tank :p

Uses a replaceable battery so you can keep a spare on you if needed and are someplace you cannot charge via USB. Also internal non replaceable batteries will weaken over time, then cannot be replaced.

I spent almost 3 months comparing mods and watching reviews before buying this mod. It had everything I wanted and more.

My wish list was:
Must be firmware up-gradable. They actually added TC in SS while mine was in the mail.
Must be USB chargeable. I am around computers all the time, so easy and do not require separate charger.
Must be at least 75 watts. Sure an ego battery works, but this was simply my sweet spot for both options of coils, and longer battery life.
Must be easy to use. This remembers different coils, and is a snap to adjust.
Must not be huge. Personal preference, this minus tank can hide in your hand. I don't require a back mounted proton pack like the ghost-busters.
Must look good. Subjective, I got the black one, with a black crown tank, very happy here.
Must not cost a lot. This was like $40 from china. Plus 11 more for a Sony VTC5 battery. I bought 2 so I would have a spare, have yet to use the spare.
Must be able to vape at least a full day. I am not a heavy vaper, this goes at least 2-3 days for me, it is fast to recharge also. With a K1 I could vape for a week on it.

My suggestion would be to make your own wish list, and see what fits yours best.
