Looks nice! Surprised that much life off 3 NiMhi batts too.

You might want to check out the Janty Cameo that is coming out very soon as it has a VERY similar look (triangle instead of rectangle) and may provide just as much if not more vape power/time with 2 Li Ion in it - though I'm guessing now as the details are still secret.

I have actually been getting nearly 2 days or 6 mills of juice out of three 2000 mah AA batteries with my soldering Iron mod...so it shouldn't be any different with this. The great thing is that nimah rechargeables are fairly cheap and do seem to be holding up very well to all the charging and draining. At a pinch I could even use standard AA 1,5 volt non rechargeable's, I wonder how long they would last.

Excellent!!

Given some of my recent readings on Li Ion 'boom' I'd love to find a safer alternative power supply that travels well and lasts long.

So now the key is a nice, easy "box". There is a mod that uses a very large perscription bottle and a large washer in the bottom to connect up the batts. So maybe circular is the shape to shoot for???

I was thinking about circular holders and looking at all the pill containers in the supermarket but a cylinder would actually make it quite a bit bigger and I am finding it's suprisingly good having a square shape..it doesn't roll when you put it down! lol The ideal container would perfectly surround the outline of four AA batteries stood in a square. I was wondering if I could do something with that Polymorph.

Pete, have you thought about putting two 2xAA covered boxes together back-to-back? I think that's the the solution your looking for.

Hey ...wow that's a good thought, that would actually do away with the 2 sharp squared sides on the square 4 AA battery box. Brilliant. Thanks space.:thumbs:

Oh hang you mean proper boxes with the 'cover'....that would be even better if I can get hold of them with covers. I shall have to look online for some. I cannot find a square box with a cover but two aa boxes might be possible to find. fantastic.

I am sure I have seen 2 AA boxes with covers somewhere but for some reason sticking them together back to back didn't go through my mind. duh!.

Pete....this seems to be an awful lot of work and effort from a polar bear who just wants to kick back and relax. ;)

But in any case....did you mean like these? (sorry...not sure how helpful this is for you across the pond....but as I recall....you chaps have a store that is similar to our Radio Shack....Maplin's, mebbe??):

Battery holder: 2 x AA Covered Battery Holder with On-Off Switch - RoHS Compliant

Wahh.... 2 of those stuck back to back would be perfect but at the moment I cant seem to find them in the UK, Maplins is useless lol. I found them at amazon uk but they are out of stock and have no idea when they will be available. grrr

I had kicked (and have been kicking) that idea around in my mind, myself...

I have been using the one I knocked up yesterday to give me an idea of what it would be like to use and it's brilliant to have something so small vaping like a trojan and still giving a long battery life. Works just as good but is much better than holding a soldering Iron in my hand!!.. lol. I just need the right battery boxes now to be able to make a decent job of it. I don't think I will feel self concious about vaping it in public at all. Well that's not quite true the 801 atty I am using does work slightly better on the voltage of four AA batteries but it isn't enough to worry about. The small size is much better.

The idea is good Pete, but in my view, the recessed atomizer will end up burning both your hand and the casing, that is without even considering the juice mess.

I don't know if there are any reports lately about Janty stick users having those problems, but I am sure it happens more than less, IMO it makes no sense.

If the only purpose is making it smaller , then use cartomizers or a 510.

I would do the same you are trying but with the only difference being the atomizer placement.

This has been done before, and funny/interestingly enough, one that did it as far back as May 2008 was...

Just some thoughts about it. :)

Interesting .....trust trog to have tried pretty much the same thing...I hadn't seen that. Not as compact as using one of the battery slots for the atty but I shall still think have to think about that ......the higher voltage of the extra battery would still be nice and it may still fit well enough in my hand with that arrangement.

Oh strangely enough I have found that my atty's hardly even get warm when vaping since I have been doing the daily dry burn. So the atty getting too hot in my hand isn't a problem.
