Ok, among the things from the last vapemail came a second YK1 which I had purchases for modding. I plan to use this when I feel like dual coiling as I don't feel like I want to mod my RM2 at all (bigger or second airhole)

This is the $6 YK1, I'm liking it a lot because of its small chamber and as a matter of fact has replaced the phoenix v2 as my fav dripper

We want to press-out the positive connection, make sure to drive all the way down the black screw before pressing it

what I did what I stacked to rolls of kanthal wires I have around (the ones that come in a black plastic wheel), took a big torx bit (T15) and slowly hammered it out

Then with the thickest Dremel Cutting this I had and an exacto blade made a channel, about 1.5 - 2 mm deep into the side of the positive connector, also cut a channel in the plastic that sorrounds it BUT NOT ALL THE WAY DOWN

insert back positive into plastic, making sure to align both channels

Press fit back into atty, placed into REO (put a PR-010 ring at the bottom), test for feeding, it works!

Then made the stock airhole bigger to 1/16" and drilled a second one into the opposite side

Put 2x 10 wraps of kanthal 27 in two 5/64" drill bit and moved into place

Test fire + cotton:

Put it all together, wetted my wicks, Tapete seems to like the smell

I got .7 ohm on the dual coil, it may go up as it breaks in a couple hours

Just a test run, no longer trying to do huge clouds, I just don't have the lungs for it, and someone was just asking to be on video

My schnoodle hates vape smoke, but my 15yo yellow lab couldn't care less. Nice Coils, I have been looking for other bf rda's, sounds like I got a lil project for the future.

I'll be using this one for a home made BF I have around, RM goes to REO.

Still, as a backup BF it is GREAT!

p.d.: I make a point to annoy the bejesus out of my two yorkies as much as they annoy us at night when I go to bed (they got to sleep between wife & i)

Nice job man. Thats looks nice and good looking vapor production.

Thanks Vape, I'm not much of a dual-coiler, matter of fact, I'm finding that the battery life gets decimated, my Sonys were at 3.82 volts after an hour of use!

And I'm burning liquid like there is no tomorrow!

I think I'm going back to a sane single coil

hey pdlib, honestly, I haven't done much dual coiling myself

but the battery issue is pretty hard, I think I'd rather do with a single .4 or .5 ohm coil

how may wraps on a 5/64 do I need (k 26?), a 5/6 ?

Also, I'm liking the 5/64" size more, it seems my wicks last longer (close to a week on the other yk1 I have, the one for only dripping)

Yeah my problem was i had another rda in the order i wanted to play with as well they were out said would have them following Monday...a week later i finally just canceled the other one and they shipped next day. That was over a week ago so probably another couple of days it'll arrive.

i'm onto day 19 of ordering an ithaka clone and it's just today when they shipped it! another month or so until I see it :/

i need to get me some of that, definetly

I think you like a warm/hot vape, d. The thing about the 24 is that it really only suits for a gentle vape. By the time you achieve a fast enough heat-up, you're bound to be at .3Ω. Then again, it's a different kind of .3 , so maybe you won't mind being that low? Just a thought.
