I think you like a warm/hot vape, d. The thing about the 24 is that it really only suits for a gentle vape. By the time you achieve a fast enough heat-up, you're bound to be at .3Ω. Then again, it's a different kind of .3 , so maybe you won't mind being that low? Just a thought.

If just for trying, 24k will be my next purchase, already have 26, 27, 28, 30 & 32 in 100f' rolls and some flat ribbon in 50'

I'm also wanting some nichrome, if just to see how much better / worse it's from kanthal

26 Nichrome, for sure! From what you tell me you like in a vape; that's gonna be your best friend!!!

will do! thanks man, I must say I didn't like ribbon that much, nichrome will be a first though

yeah, I like it warm-towards-hot and fast response for short, analog-like drags

btw, back to rm2 & sanity

btw, have a modding project going on but that will take time and I don't think will be adequate in the REOs thread

Hah, you tech savvy guys make me jealous! I'll have to buy the VA cyclone bf to get to Dhome's result. What I can tell you is that what ended up working for me is 28g Kanthal on 5/64 (almost 2mm in my language). About 5 or 6 wraps gets me to around 1.2 ohm. Then 3mm silica slips in there easily, and bobs your uncle. Cotton just did not work for me. Must try that 26 nichrome.

Just love yorkies, Dhome. We have 2.

+1 (billion) for yorkies, they have a strong personality, that's for sure

I almost passed the cotton due to initial poor results, but you develop a feeling for it over time

first few days with a reos I'd do only mini-coils (5/64) and then slip some 2 mm ekowool into it, not a bad vape either, but there is an additional flavor from the 'wool the first few hours

Andre, here in South American (well, most of the world), we use metric, so mm, kg, Newton, etc is what I am accustomed to

I know, same here, but on this forum we are in the minority so we have to adapt. My converter is working overtime!

I would actually prefer is the U.S. adopted the metric system.

You wish!

I know the MIT School of Engineering is now pretty much just teaching in Metric (and I was watching a video lecture a few months ago where the physics professor called the english system stupid)

But there are things the English system works wonders, even though we use metric we always handle pipe sizes in inches, it would be awkward to be asking for a 106.1 mm pipe (4 inches)

Actually, in my memory, the US has attempted to adopt the metric system once (in the 1970s and 1980s). There was even a date set. It turned out that it was a monumental change with unfathomable costs. This was dropped. However, the metrification of the US measurement systems still continue. A couple of good resources can be found here (wiki) and also here. The latter reference seems to indicate that the conversion is still going on (it was supposed to be completed in 2010) and indicates that we should "Expect some annoyed Europeans (and possible fines) if we continue to drag our feet." So, eventually (just not in my lifetime, it seems) the US will be dropping (what is now called) US measurement system (I still remember it as the Imperial System, however that name was dropped in the interest of PC when England converted) and adopting the metric one.

Thanks Vape, I'm not much of a dual-coiler, matter of fact, I'm finding that the battery life gets decimated, my Sonys were at 3.82 volts after an hour of use!

And I'm burning liquid like there is no tomorrow!

I think I'm going back to a sane single coil

Thats the exact reason I have gone away from duals, the returns from juice and battery consumption isnt worth it

That funny the only bigger metric sizes I know off the top of my head are ones related to car exhaust sizes

Indeed, now if I had a BAM or other 26650 device that would be a different story

although, there is still the juice consumption matter, but hey, one can always DIY (never gotten into it, I just buy my liquid by the 250 ml bottle)

That is true, DIY is my next venture into vaping once I make my REO a little more efficient, like you and Dibs are doing.

It's not like it would be the first mod without a spring I would have but I appreciate the advice. His seems simpler as well

i've been using a mkb-ts without spring for a couple of months now, there is a thread in the APV sub-forum with a whole bunch of people running them like that

that's why I wasn't as afraid to give it a try

Working wonders indeed.
