I'm a bit new to vaping and need some advice. I started last week after trying out an e-cig that a friend of mine purchased. I did my research as best I could and decided to take the plunge. I bought the DSE-901 kit from Totally Wicked. I also got some juice and some accessories. I read a lot of posts on here before I decided to buy this.

I got my E-cig on Wednesday the 6th and all in all I am relatively happy with it. I switched because I am worried about my health and have never been able to quit. I really didn't want to quit smoking but at the same time I didn't like the physical effects of analogs. E-cigs seemed a no brainer. The fact that I can smoke it in my own home or anywhere else is novel but otherwise irrelevant.

Here's my problem. I am a smoker that likes to "French Inhale" as I've heard it called. I like to slowly draw the smoke into my mouth, pull the cig from my mouth and then inhale. It's impossible to do that with the DSE-901. I really have to draw hard on it to get the battery to activate.
So, I need some advice from those that tried the Titan (510 model). I like to give business to the people who treat me well and Totally Wicked did just that. They only offer the Titan 510, the Super (not sure on model) and the DSE-901. Is the Titan the E-cig for people that French Inhale? Can you draw slowly on it without the manual battery?

From what I read it seems like this would be the one for me but I would like some more feedback. Maybe models and retailers you all have had a good experience with.

On a side note I have not smoked an analog since I opened the package from Totally Wicked and have not felt the need to. With the exception to the inhaling issue and some other small issues like the wool getting stuck in the atomizer I'm satisfied. I don't mind the small things because analogs have small annoyances like ash falling in your lap, smoke in the eyes, smelly clothing and fingers, etc.

I'm pretty sure I actually smoke less than when I was on analogs. When smoking analogs I would usually be satisfied about half way down the length. I would continue smoking it however because I hated wasting such expensive little things. Now, I can take a couple of puffs and put it away without any regret. So, I think I may be puffing a little more often but not for nearly as long.

Sure, you can do a French Curl or French Inhale with an e-cig. You may or may not enjoy the flavor of the vapor that way, just try it. Good draw practices are needed for the best vapor production. Take a quick primer puff and follow that with a long consistant draw for the best vapor. When vapor seems to fall off, top off your cartridge. In no time at all, you will know how to best use your device for your satisfaction.

i also have a 901 that i got last week or so(was it the week before that?)

mine has a very easy draw! i had to watch spikey's and ratindahat's videos to get a good perspective on how to use this thing properly.

once you've done that - i have found that putting my mouth farther along down the mouthpiece makes for a really easy draw.

also - i have found that dripping is the easiest way to "vape". for me there was just too much messing around and playing with the cartridges. plus it gives me a good idea when to stop. with dripping i get a good amount of vapor each time and i dont have to put forth much effort.

hope this helps!

Hi! I was having the same issues myself. I recently purchased a screwdriver which has resolved the problem due to the activation button. I can turn the battery on an off while pulling a constant slow inhale. I know there are other more affordable options. Janty has one for sure, not well versed enough to give you the model number. Hope this helps! ;)

OMG! I don't understand the physics of it but putting my lips farther down the length works! It's easier to draw on. How very strange...

For me dripping didn't work as well. I found I had to hold the e-cig facing down to get it to work and I ended up with liquid on my lips half the time. I did like the vapor production from dripping however. This prompted me to remove about a third of the cotton from the tip which seems to work better for me. I no longer get filter hits and get better vapor but I have lost about half the puffs I get before refilling from a normal cart.

Finally, I tried some different liquids and models that a friend of mine purchased. He got a Smoke 51 model (not sure the model) that has prefilled cartridges and atomizers. That model produces a thicker vapor that is easier to draw but is much more cost prohibitive. The prefilled cartridges are expensive when you realize how much liquid you are getting out of them. You can pop open the cartridges and refill them but the atomizers are really cheap and die within a few refills.

My friend also got the Johnson Creek sampler pack. Their liquids seem to produce a slightly thicker vapor than Wicked's. I think I like Wicked's flavor more tho. I may switch to Johnson Creek simply because their liquid is $10 cheaper per bottle.

Thank you all for your advice. Vaping has become a more enjoyable experience because of it.

Try the 801 models with a manual switch......Eastmall sells one, as does Janty (the Kissbox)

the 801 has a larger atty, some have 4 air-intake holes with makes for a real easy draw (but makes for cooler vapor).

The generic 801 attys I get from Ruyan have a smooth draw, the Janty attys almost have too easy a draw (like sucking on an empty straw)

Hope this helps.

Manual switch batteries are going to give you the control you need to pull off any sort of drag you want. The 510 has been great for me because I switch it up all the time.

Oh, yeah, I forgot there were 510's out there with a manual.....haven't tried them, yet, don't want to have another PV I have to stock up on parts on...
