Hi, just wondering if anybody is using their moonshot for a low power build? I got my moonshot on the nugget currently and been vaping a 26g dual 7 wrap 3mmm ID N80@40W and the flavour is not bad.

Trying to see if anybody else sticks any other build in their moonshot @ low wattages.

40w is not low wattage vaping. but with the inefficient coils being all the rage now day it may seem like it.

dual 28 gauge 2 strand parallel bump to 27 gauge if you want it a lil warmer. 3mm diameter. I run it around 45 watts in the Mutanks and the moonshot.

For a rowdier vape bump the strand numbers to 3 or 4 and adjust wraps for your preferred resistance. These ones vape nice in the 50-60 watt ranges.

Wattage is only a brute force attack for vapor production.

If you want to keep it in the 40 watt range then your options will be limited to regular coils. In this I would try both contact and spaced.and pick they one I liked best. 24 gauge 6 wrap at 3mm, or 5 wraps at 3.5 should be in the .28ish range.

Getting out of the wattage limitation, I would try 2 strand parallel 26gauge kanthal 6 wraps at 3.5mm dual coils. Should come out to around .25. Wicking speed may be an issue with this build. but it will be a fun experiment.

For me I don't like the long coils. They always taste a little scorched to me. I prefer them in the 4-6 wrap range. If I cant get the resistance I want in that range of wraps, I start adjusting diameter and wire size.
