A bit off-topic but here goes. There's been a ton of mosquitoes out lately so I sprayed some Off bug repellent on my legs and arms the other week before goin outside for my after dinner vape n beer. A few minutes into my vape session and I noticed that the little plastic screen on my Vamo was so frosted that I couldn't see thru it. Turns out that I still had some of the bug repellent on my hand, which contains Deet and royally fubar'd my plastic LED screen.

Well... lesson learned. It took some work buffing out that plastic screen cover with a dremel almost back to its previous condition...with the exception of a small spot that I got a little carried away with.

Hmmm, honestly ive only felt that when i smoked, if i was smoking, no bugs came near me. I dont know that there is any difference really otherwise. I spend some time in the deep woods and always have since i was little. Usually i get hit worse than the friend i spend most time wandering with now, so there is definitely a difference from person to person with your personal odors ;)

It does bring about the question as to whether or not the little flying buggers could be attracted to either fruity or sweet scents as well, I would think. I haven't had any more problems with pests than usual, but it seems that it could make sense.

Yes, sweet. As in sugar. The leading magazine in pest control had this article.

Hi all,

This is probably stupid but do you think mosquitoes are more attracted to vapers than others?
I know smokers are more prone to mosquitoes due to the raised carbon dioxide levels but are vapers in the same boat?
Can anyone share some light on this? LOL.

Thanks again.

Yes god yes they swarm at me when i vape! holy crap i thought me and my girl wernt the only ones lol we go hiking and biking all the time in the forest reservation and when we vape we get attacked by swarms! i am not crazy her vaping does attract mosquitos! we even put it to the test by stopping at a spot and not vaping then walking in a circle to come back to that spot and vape there. When we vaped mosquitos nearly tripled! anyone else experience this? We dont vape on the trails anymore because of it, i mean its summer and we live in newengland near heavy woods so there are a lot of bugs but it seems to draw mosquitos the most.

We have had a very wet year and it seems to me that the mosquito's are worse than usual. I know they don't seem to mind vaping one bit...I normally don't get bit up. This last weekend I walked over to my neighbors house and was chewed up by those li'l buggers. At one point I almost jumped into their swimming pool to get away from them, my legs are still itchy! Instead I just wiped the chlorine water on my arms and legs and high-tailed it home.

Mosquitoes are attracted first by CO2 emmited when you breath. They can detect it from up to 70 meters away.
People with concentrations of steroids and cholesterol on their skin surface attract the little buggers, but that doesn’t mean that if you have high cholesterol you are a target. You could be a very efficient processor of cholesterol, so it’s on your skin.
ethanol will attract them, so beer drinkers are more tasty to them.
And remember your mom telling you to get rid of that foot odor? Yep excessively stinky feet will bring them swarming!!!
According to research, people with type “O” blood are more attractive to them.
Try not to breath hard or move a lot.. the movement will attract them, and once they are within that 70 meters, they latch onto the CO2. Well except those drinking beverages with lots of alcohol….
