I have noticed this: when I was smoking cigarettes the smoke would repel the little leaches pretty well, was one of the "good" reasons to be a smoker during time outdoors..

vaping, not so much, the little maggots are worse than I recall so although not a scientific study imo I would say that clouds of vapor does not seem to repel insects as smoke did.

Now if the little buggers are drawn to vapor in addition to carbon monoxide, then well not smoking is still better than having a bug repellent.

Try banana juice, I read that people that eat bananas are less of a magnet to mosquitoes. Or try hanging a banana around your neck while vaping out side, report back on how effective that is :) LOL bnrk

I always heard that they were attracted to the potassium...

Anyway, I think a banana around the neck is a good idea regardless, and garlic too...for the vampires.

Just to let you know that you are not alone, I posted this two years ago...

:)

This was my opening post, which still holds true today unfortunately...

Mosquito bites.

Yes, I'm serious.

For as long as I can remember I have not been the favored target of mosquitoes.
Whenever we venture into mosquito territories, my wife is the one who comes away bitten up.

But we just came back from a weekend camping trip, and she has zero mosquito bites.
And I have 9 of them, 6 of which are on my ankles (through my socks) even though she was wearing sandals.

And then I realized that lately, I have been the one getting more mosquito bites.

And then I started thinking maybe I've become a lot tastier since I stopped smoking.
Or since I started vaping.
Or both.

So, a serious question, has ANYBODY else noticed a similar phenomenon?

Because I've seen a lot of vaping health benefits talked about throughout this forum for years now.
And I've seen some of the potential pitfalls that some people might have to deal with.

But I have never seen anyone ever mention anything about becoming more tasty to mosquitoes.

I've often heard that many scents - shampoo, after shave, etc - are a come-hither for these bugs, so strongly scented juice may be as well.

We've had good results with the battery operated high frequency generators to "scare" them away. Apparently the frequency approximates the sound of a mosquito predator. So a high frequency pulsed mod might repel them?
