I've got a close friend who has hit a certain degree of financial difficulty. He doesn't really have the money to be able to afford his smoking habit and he has decided to try to save money with e-cigarettes as it is possible to find a saving somewhere.

Unlike a lot of people on this forum, he isn't a heavy smoker. I'd say that a pack of 20 can last him three to four days but it depends - on rare occasions it'll only last two days. For myself and many others, this is a small amount of cigarettes to consume. However, it's still enough to be quite costly (a pack of 20 over here is around £7/approx $11 to $12) and he's had a recent health scare which has turned out not to be serious but has still worried him to the point of tears.

Anyway. I was wondering what the most affordable way to switch to e-cigarettes is. I'm sure your brilliant minds will be able to suggest a good option ;)

This is prolly the most cost efficient Kit I've seen and for at least the first 2-3 months all he'd need to purchase would be juice.
£28.99
Includes:
2 x EVOD Manual battery 650mah
2 x EVOD 1.5ml Clearomizers (Resistance:2.5ohm)
5 x Bottom Coil Heads (Resistance:2.2ohm)
1 x 500mA eGo Fast USB Charger
1 x User Manual
1 x gift box

Best of Luck.

The EVODs have replaceable heads so even after he was finished with the supplied 7 heads his operating costs would be very low. Extra heads cost £1.75 each.

Thanks all. I did insist that it would work out cheaper in the long run for him to go with an eGo setup but he's going on about cig-a-likes and pre-filled cartos. He doesn't seem to understand that pre-filled cartos are expensive for the small amount of liquid in them and they don't last long. Seems I need to do more persuading over the next week I have him staying in my apartment!

I bought a mig cig! very pleased with it. I had to order mine from the states (florida) took a long time to get here but well worth the wait! The mig cig was very noob friendly. Plug and play, no leaking, no burnt or dry hit taste. Wish I had ordered a mig cig right from the word "go". My all day vape is a Provari mini v2.5 and I had a learning curve that wasn't exactly noob friendly. As a noob I had to learn the right watts for my coil blah blah blah. Was a bad experience at first. Popped a coil had dry/burnt hits. All is good now that I have learned a thing or two.

Wish I could show him the difference between a Cigalike and an Ego. Cigalikes give E-Cig's a bad wrap. Poor vapour and flavour production most of the time, very poor battery life and very expensive as you say.

The amount of people I've known who have brought cheap cigalikes and then go go back to normal cigs because they get frustrated with keep having to charge batteries and replace cartos is ridiculous.

What ever you do, make SURE he gets an Ego. Maybe slightly more expensive to start, but much cheaper in the long run and will have a very good chance of keeping him away from Analogs.

If he really is set on buying a cig sized this is a good kit. I'd suggest he get the 78mm 280mah as a second battery choice, Comes with a PCC meaning it can be carried along and charges the batteries. Seeing as he's a light smoker prolly wouldn't be too expensive. Prefilled cartos cost £4.99 for a 5 Pack. Realize this is an 808 threaded battery kit.

Some will disagree with me here so its just my 2 cents. When budget is an issue its tempting to buy a no-name battery. That's not something I would never do for two reasons: 1) safety 2) durability and longevity. Also, when making the initial purchase think about future use. A throw-away clearo is going to wind up costing more in the long run. At least make sure the clearo uses replacable heads. I guess I'm just saying to stick with known, tried and true, products.

I started out about 6 months ago with Blu ecigs. Loved them for about a month but got very frustrated quickly with low battery life and inconsistent carts that would either be DOA or burn out too quickly.

I agree wholeheartedly with the EGO starter kit suggestion. Tank system is so much better and a lot less expensive. I've since upgraded from the 650 battery to the 900 spinner from Vision. Just got my first protank as well. Can't believe what a difference these two make. I'd at least suggest starting out with 900 spinner batter in place of the 650. It's just as slim, tad longer. Matches up well with the entry level clearomizer tanks. I get a lot more vapor being able to adjust the voltage and I think the bigger battery helps as well. And the spinner was only $2-3 more than the original 650.

That's a good suggestion and you can always refill the cartomizers. I started out with a Kr808 and refilled the cartos. The packaging usually says you can't, but that's a big fat lie. It can be done and it keeps things cheap. High nicotine is a good idea with these smaller models. At least 24 mg.
