I must have just spent 300-400$ on gear... but I feel incredible. I hit the gym every single day, breathe effortlessly, taste my food, dont smell like an ashtray.

Also I love tinkering with computers and gadgets... with cigarettes you cant do much tinkering... I love vaping... even if it ended up costing me more I would not care... I enjoy it and the people I meet at vape shops...

Once i get my next toy which will be next week i am going to sit down with the budget thing and figure out exactly how much the wife and i were spending and cut that in half for monthly spending. even that may be way more than we need. I went buck wild at first and we have liquid to last a while. not stuff we really like but no point in wasting it either. once all that starts to go down will order some more. would like a few more clearos but i have enough now. Gonna get the wife a few more for chirstmas and maybe an evod or two. From there on out it will be liquid and coils and even thinking about learing how to rebuild those so the cost will go down some more. I think after this next large purchase this thing will really start to pay off money wise. lord knows it has health wise alread.

As I sit here and rotate thru my 4 vapes, I'm pretty sure I've blown about $1K on stuff in the past 45 days. On the other hand, I should be good on clearos, vapes, juice, spare heads, batteries, carrying cases and other assorted stuff to last me a good long while....till I see something on here that I just have to have!!

To me the most important factor was quality of life. I can breathe, I don't stink, I save money, whats not to love?

And honestly I never had a budget. I just bought cigs whenever I needed them and made sure I stayed stocked up. I smoked a pack a day for the past ten years. And if your lucky enough to live in Snowbird haven (Arizona) the tobacco tax here is outrageous. Newports or Marlboros cost around $9 a pack. 9 x 7 x 4 equals out to $252 a month. Even if I spend double the amount I spent on analogs, I would still be happy because my quality of life has vastly improved.

I paid $7 for a pack of Newport's each day. That's $200/month. In the 2 months I haven't smoked I've spent about $500 in juice and gear...mostly gear. But now I have everything I truly wanted. I have a Provari, a carto tank, a Protank II, and a KayFun Lite Plus. I also have my starter kit from Halo- the Triton, which I don't use anymore.

So I see it will save me money in the long run. That's why I bought what I wanted and the best gear that suited me upfront, so I wouldn't be forced to purchase multiple times. Now it's nothing but juices from here on out and I have plenty to get through as it is LOL!

Now in the following months I can buy a mech if I want to or whatever it may be for $200 and not feel bad as long as I'm buying quality gear that will last.

So in my opinion, it may be more $ upfront, but in the long run your going to save money. :)

Yep.. that was the point - your quality of life has improved!
But let's go easy on the "snowbird" thing!!
I been known to get tired of the cold here and grab dog, put the bike on the trailer behind the Dolphin and head out to Quartzsite, Glamis and over to Slab City for a couple months to thaw out.
When I started this thread I didn't factor in the price of the Marlboro's in Arizona or California or any of the states I passed through..

Yeah, most people are short sighted when it comes to comparing price, even the cost of a high end apv and atomizer, say one spends $300 for, they think oh my, that's expensive, nope, just look at what I haven't spent in smokes and I still have my gear, quality gear. My sister surprised me when I told her how much I spent for the Provari and Russian, and she said, that's cheap. Mainly because she recognizes value, and understands the ease of quitting smokes it was for me, and knows how much the use of medicine, patches or gum alternatives cost. She seen many try these other methods and fail.

There is a vape a vet organization. They sell juice, and all proceeds go to providing vets with vaping equipment and juices. I got in on a monthly subscription to help the cause, not sure if it is still open, but for under $18, they send me 60ml of juice.

Not a bad thing. Vets deserve so much more...

Thank you sooooo much for this. I go to the PHX VA (for Hubby) and the Prescott one (for me) regularly and will contact the places listed to see if its still a go, print out a list, make copies and hand them out as needed... don't want to risk BBs. ;)

Buying Indian Reservation smokes, the savings aren't near as great. I started 2 weeks ago (today) and am almost off the regular smokes. The starter kit I went with initially is already junk (disposable tank type CE4) & the eGo battery with it came apart. Only saved the case, charger and plastic drip bottle from that starter kit. I then went to a Pro tank II mini & ego c-twist. Had it just a few days and when I go to the shop I keep seeing newer things I want to spend money on ....ARGH!

But I will stay with vaping as I can already feel a health difference as I used to smoke 1 1/2 packs a day easy (sometime 2 packs a day)

Thats what I do too, buy the best stuff I can. It tends to perform better and you dont have to worry about it breaking down. Case in point I have an svd the works fine sometimes, other times I have to push the button extra hard... not the end of the world but ive only had it like 6 months and its sure to break more in the future, completly most likely. I bought a provari to replace it so i dont really care so much when it breaks now. I only need one vv mod, as I tend to use mechs more since I use RBA's most of the time and dont like to deal with the limitations of the vv's with them.

Also, you should buy a nice high end mech :) They really are nice with rebuildables and you already have atleast one nice rba in the kayfun (I do to :) ) You can build them in the resistance you want and hold down the power as long as you please. Plus there's alot of beautiful ones out there. Hybrids are cool as well, only downside is you cant change your delivery device.

Also alot of the higher end carto tanks are gourgeous, like kir fanis, vaperfexion's stuff, ect. ect. Specially the ones that are designed to go overtop of the provari's ring making everything flush like a hybrid......

Yeah, im on the losing side of the money saving equation, but I agree that its sooo ok. Id of payed it just not to smoke anymore and not only did I get that but I got a new hobby I really really enjoy :)

It is easy, even buying mods, new stuff, ohh shiny's. I also spent about $10 a day on cigs, set my vaping budget at 1/2 of what I spent on smokes. $300 a month smoking, meant $150 a month for vaping, save up a couple months worth and anything is within budget...:)

    ^ what he said!

Check my signature! Hell I even bought my wife a new kitchen range & built in microwave with my smoking budget without ever once spending more than what I would have spent on smokes.

I look at these numbers and I have to laugh. Have any of you bought the lozengers recently? Those suckers got super expensive for me. I was using them and smoking at the same time. At first I was smoking a lot less, but that soon changes. And talk about a PITA! You should read the package. No drinking or eating 15minutes before using a lozenger or while using it too. Then there's the dry mouth and of course you still miss the oral fixation. The patches arent cheap either. (and they just ...... me off, might have worked if I could have rolled it and smoked it) I love how all this junk are priced super high to "hook" you just like regular smokes. I said screw it and went back to analogs. Now that I'm vaping, it's satisfying the oral fixation and nic need. I think it's wayy cheaper than anything else I've tried, more satisfying too. I just hope the us government doesn't screw this up and drive the price up. The easy way would be to crank the taxes on the concentrated nic juice. Then will enter the big tobacco companies because of lost demand for analogs and that of course will drive up the cost of those too. Soon the only thing left will be a bunch of UNINSURED and ticked off exsmokers and smokers alike storming washington. I'm gonna stop, before I really get mad. I think I'll go find that cassa site and sign up to show my support for vapors like us. As a side note, I think the first thing we REALLY need to do is STOP calling them E-cigarettes. That is NOT helping our cause. ~rant off~ ;-)

    just you wait..

    soon you'll start wanting mods..

and then a new prettier mod will come out.. and you'll need it.

Then the newest prettiest mod will come out and you'll need that too..
