all I can tell you is I ordered 20 510 atty's .......all arrived with exact same ohms resistance, all fired up and myself and 3 other people have only had one die 10 weeks for 2 of us and 4 weeks for the other 2. I only use one at a time also not rotating 6 or 8

for what it's worth

Where did you get the atty's from?

I like the Best E Cig generic 901 attys the best and I think the 901 has the best flavor, but I feel the 510's are more durable and aren't as finicky and hold up longer, but they have way less flavor. I like the 901's for smooth chain vaping and the 510's for more of a harsh hit when needed and have been away from vaping for a while and need more of a fix.

all great answers! i've always heard that the 510 attys were less durable? i won't have mine until next week. it's going to take alot to get me off the 901! i've heard good things about 510 vapor, but my 901 is kicking it out pretty hard and i've got great flavor coming from it...

i've been using the same 401 and 901 attys for over 3 months now, just replaced a couple 901 batteries because the switches are terribad.

thanks

I dont know how you kill a 4081 atty.. usin a 6+ volt mod and I set something on the switch, had to be goin for a good 5 minutes. the cart was totally melted and the thing still goes and goes. got two that are about 4 months old.. both from njoy.
with the 901s I went through a bunch (at least 20) the first 3 months or so. but havent had one go in quite a while( probably 3 weeks). Just got 2 801s ( my first) two weeks ago and they are still going good. Just got some 510s today and will see if I like em or not..

My 2 cents FWIW

I've been happier with the 510 atomizers than the 901. I guess the 901's clogged so easy the performance tappered off pretty quickly. When the 901 died and I switched to a new 901 atomizer I remembered what I loved about them in the first place. Atomizers really aren't that expensive. If you're using one or two a month it's still cheaper then cigarettes. We tend to get too attached to atomizers. It's like getting attached to the battery in your cell phone. It's just a component.

Strangely enough the most durable I've found is the DSE103. It's just a big ... chunk of metal. Nothing frail about it. The air holes are similar to a JOY510 or JOYE306 and it's wide wick is just made to be dripped (throw the carts away). It's kind of like a large 306 with decent battery life. Can't tell you how long it will last, the one I bought in April is still going strong.

It just started tasting really really bad. If I topped the cart off and dripped in the atomizer it would taste ok for maybe one drag, but somehow had a hint of the horrible taste. When you press the button and look down you see it red hot very very quickly, so I guess the coil still works but I can't figure out. I can still "use" it but the taste is disgusting, to me thats broke.

I saved it for modding (dont know if its of any use) or to fix if I find others that had the same problem.

It broke? how? did it stop working or did the coil wires break? sorry, just curious.

I have come to the concolusion that (at least with the ones I have tried) atomizers seem to be "luck of the draw". I have purchased multiple atomizers from the same source and had them vary in life-span from hours to months.

I do find that there are big differences between how the high-bridge and low-bridge atomizers "wear". The high bridge atomizers rarely get cloggy, and don't degrade in performance as quickly as the low-bridge atomizers. On the other hand they have a high rate of "wicking problems" (where you constantly have to mess with the cart-filler and top off to keep it vaping). High-bridge atomizers also tend to work great until they suddenly drop dead without warning.

The low-bridge atomizers seem to always be able to vape a cart almost completley dry and they last longer overall, but their vapor production drops and they get cloggy after time. They usually don't "die" they just get too weak to use.

I find this true for both 801's and 901's but there are always exceptions to the rule. Right now I am using a high-bridge in my 901 which is going on week 5 and it works just as well as the first day I used it. This is my longest-lasting high-bridge to date. My oldest low-bridge lasted a little over two months.

If you compare two that are both really working at top levels the high-bridge atomizer is better, but I get a lower failure rate with the low-bridge versions.

I can't speak to this because I've only had one atomizer die, and it was user error. All the rest are still going strong. Almost wish I hadn't got so many spares. I'm also a high volt user. I haven't used 901's at high voltage yet, and I've heard the die a lot at 6v, but you hear a lot of things yanno. "Your Mileage May Vary" seems to be the recurring theme with e-cigs. Two different people having completely different experiences.
