Sorry for going off topic about batteries here but I just want to interject a quick question.

When you guys say "3 hours of battery" what exactly does that mean? 3 hours of button holding time? Or is that 3 hours from the first hit its dead? Or is just like 3 hours of constant vaping......

And do you guys really just vape for hours straight? I mean even when I smoke cigs I didnt just "chain smoke" that seems excessive...

it dosnt mean three hours of constant on time.. ten minutes or less would be nearer the mark for a mini sized e cig..

but it can mean all sort of things.. like someone saying it lasts them all their working day.. their "day" being five ten minute smoking breaks..

basically it means what folks want it to mean.. sooo say eight minutes actual "on" time and divide that over how much "real" time you want... he he

thats when new..

and as a general rule i think folks can spend a lot time vaping than they did smoking..

Hmmm.... The 401, I think has the better combination of vape and flavour, closely followed by the 901. While the 510 puts out a goodly cloud, I find its flavour is biased toward the harsh side - it seems to leech the flavour and almost "burn" it, whereas the 401 seems to enhance it, over the 901. The plus for the 901 and 510 is cart capacity over the 401, but the 401 is far easier to drip/dip.

401 battery life (I know, I know) seems superior to both the 901 and certainly the 510, and I understand PCCs are available for all three - I have both the 901 and 510 PCCs, and I much prefer the 901 style,(which is what the 401 style is) - purely because you thread the battery in, and can disconnect it once it's charged, so there's no "suck back" if the PCC batt is flat. It's also much more pocketable.

So, on balance, the 401 with PCC gets my vote, I think, with the 901 perhaps 1 percentage point behind.

My experience is that 510 PCC is unreliable, so anyone who buys one will be disappointed, for sure. I won't buy another 510 PCC.

Since the 510 megabattery has been available, I haven't needed a PCC. Two 510 megabatteries last me from 6:00 AM in the morning to 7:00 PM at night. Of course, vaping in front of the TV requires a couple more batts, though at home chargers are readily available.

Any juice remaining in the 510 cart filler amounts to less than 5% of the total I use all day. If you believe the color or wetness of the polyfill indicates significantly wasted juice, you will be mistaken. If you try to squeeze out the leftover juice with a 10 ml syringe, you will know the truth.

And like I said before, the 510 attys last twice as long as others I've tried.

You will be happier and richer by staying away from unreliable parts. Regardless of which ecig you choose. Looking for the perfect vape will cost you a fortune, and you will likely end up with a 510, or perhaps an 801, anyway. Just my experience. I can't speak for mods which I haven't tried.

I just wanted to post my experience with the 401. I have 1 auto and 1 manual battery. I like the auto battery for sitting around the house, but realized that the manual battery is way better for going out. I recently went to a concert and when I reached in my pocket I was almost burned by a very hot auto battery that was being triggered by the loud music!
I had heard that they could be triggered by sound, but I didnt really believe it. Good thing I had that manual battery with me!

The bad news is that later that night the rubber part on the button for the manual battery got stuck inside somehow and I couldnt get it to turn off. Good news is the concert was over so I just swiched back to the auto battery :)

The flavor and the throat hit is nice on the 401, but the carts are a PITA as mentioned in this thread because they just dont hold enough juice imo. I dont care for dripping or dipping because I am usually on the go and just like to fill my carts and puff away. I found a really good price on a 501 so I think i am going to give that a try, but I will still keep the 401 and use it regularly.

i agree - i'm a dripper, but it can be annoying when you're out. this is why i prefer cartomizers when i'm doing something outside the house and work.

Your mom said not to say...
I am awaiting the arrival of a new KR808D-1 that I was given as a gift. I am looking forward to it but I just know that I will be a little disappointed so I try not to get visions of a perfect vaping system in my head, to help keep the expectations down to a minimum. I keep hearing everyone and their dog say that the carts do last the equal of a pack of smokes and I just find that hard to believe after my experiences so far with the 510 and m401 models. I have no doubt in my mind that I vape tons more than I smoked but I have lowered the nicotine in those flavors that I like and that I mix that I find myself mindlessly vaping away on.

A full pack is stretching it. I'd say a third of a pack, half at most.

Would the following, then, a good estimate of my monthly cost?

$10/five-pack = $2/cartomizer ( at VK site)
$2 * 3 = $6/pack
Pack-and-half-a-day smoker: $6/pack * 1.5 packs/day = $9/day
$9/day * 30 days/month = $270 per month.

I estimated I was spending around $270 per month for Camel Lights. So it sounds like the KR808D-1 is purely for convenience and health. Not for saving money. Nothing wrong with that of course.

Anyway, at the VK site I saw 16 mg in limited flavors. I would want 24 mg, and more choices. Can you help out here?

Thanks,
Dave

All I've used are 901s... well, that and whatever came with my 'health e-cigarette' first venture into e-cigarettes (that led me to the 901s REALLY quickly). I was smoking it with a regular mini battery, and the flavor was great, throat hit was decent, and I was overall very happy with it.

Then entered my new protege... with the 901 adapter. Flavor is AWESOME (especially the menthol flavors, no idea why). Throat hit is phenomenal, it shocked me the first drag, and thanks to the mod, it's a very consistent hit (which I wasn't getting before). The life on these seems pretty decent to me too, I ordered the five pack at discount price from TW, and all five are still up and living after 3 1/2 weeks (knock on wood). I drip, and carts, and it works fine for me both ways, though if you don't drip, the flavor doesn't come out as strongly IMHO, and you just get less vapor...

i had no idea that the 306 is compatible with the 510!

Does anyone know if the L88 attys are the same thing as a 306? They look exactly alike from the pictures I've seen. I've ordered (3) 306 attys from RMV so I guess I'll find out soon. I do know the L88 attys (exposed bridge) thread with a 510 battery...
