You don't understand what I said, but yet you describe it to the letter? Well, except for your last sentence of course. Then you went off on a tangent. You see, here's how I look at it-- if you buy something you don't like you have no one to blame but yourself. You might like Italian food, and the next person can't stand it. Does it give the other person the right to say Italian food sucks?

I don't buy e-liquids based off someone saying, "this is the best juice eva!!", that would be stupid of me. Taste is entirely subjective. Smart people get it.

Now Tangaroav is a special person. He's a mad scientist, pinch a penny, blow {MODERATED} up, and has to tell everyone and their mother about it to make himself feel better about himself, kinda guy. That's cool too, in a way.

A strange and twisted sorta way.

But hey, some like Charmin and some like Big Value, in the end they both get the job done.

Skeebo

I don't think my last sentence was going off on a tangent. To me that was the implication of saying you don't consider any juice that you have ever tried or seen, overrated.

It's now clear to me, that you and some others, consider a declaration of a product as overrated by anyone, as a condemnation of the purchasing decision of others. We just have a different understanding of what it means to call something overrated.

When i call something overrated, all i am saying is i think others value the product too highly and it's not worth that much to me. I am not passing judgement on their likes and dislikes, and on their purchasing decisions. If others saw some of the things i spend money on, i am sure they would think i'm nuts !

If i think the Italian food at a joint where lot's of people rave about, and cost me a pretty penny is average, i am entitled to call it overrated. Again it's an opinion, and totally subjective. It's got nothing to do with saying Italian food sucks. For the record, i love Italian food ! But if someone else calls my favorite Italian restaurant overrated, i would understand that she is expressing her point of view, and it is a legitimate opinion, albeit one i don't agree with.

Very well put Mazinny! There is a way to disagree without being offended or offensive, and you've demonstrated it perfectly. :)

I wasn't referring to the part about brain injury :) i thought that was just you being self-deprecating. I was referring to the sentiment of giving your money to purchase whatever product at the price on offer, if it's worth to you, which was the point i was making about everything in this regard being subjective. How you rate a product, and how you consider it overrated.

If you were being serious about the brain injury, i hope all is well in that regard !

I was being self deprecating but I wasn't expecting it to be seized upon.
It's nice to see I'm not crazy though.

Lazarus Vintage Sir James. It's a good juice, but I couldn't vape it all day. My husband however, could and is. Seems the darker it is, and the more it messes up his coils, the more he enjoys it. Since I maintain all his gear, he's only allowed to drip it. Also, I'm hoping it takes him more time to go through the bottle this way, but I don't think it will. He's resembled a steam engine the last two days with it. The only time he isn't vaping it is the time it takes me to replace the wicks in the Tobh and dry burn the coils. I guess it isn't overrated to him, but it is to me. Not only is it over a $1 per ml, it's costing in cotton and kanthal. It's been discontinued though, so as soon as the only vendor I've found with it is out, I'll no longer need to buy it. I did grab a second bottle for hubby in advanced, but I told him it would be the last. He's planning on vaping the opened one non stop until it's done, then saving the second for special days. I'm planning on hiding the second one and offering it in the classies one day if it's truly been discontinued....

My local vendor claims to be friends with the guy who owns Lazarus Vintage. The only reason he has it in stock apparently, is because USPS lost the last shipment for a couple of weeks. Sat somewhere in one of their sorting centers for a bit. He called Lazarus, and he sent him a second shipment from his private stores. Then the first one arrived. Let me know of your findings. It'll be interesting to know if my vendor was telling a fib. If you can't find it however, my vendor still had a couple of bottles, and you can order online. Staten Island Vape Shop and Lounge | J and A Vapes : J&A Vapes The faster they're out of stock on it, the less I'll need to buy for hubby!

I do the sir James for special occasions. I'll get the trinity every so often; for Friday or Saturday night out. I mostly vape DIY for my daily usage though.

Taste is so unique and I find it bizarre when you (me really) stop loving a juice you once loved. I'm not sure if it's our taste buds changing as we stop smoking cigarettes or the vendor's juice becomes so popular they have to source ingredients from different places to keep up on demand. Who really knows for sure.

In saying that I will not be ordering Boba's and Gorilla anymore. Just doesn't do it for me anymore. I also tried a couple of Five Pawns juices at a shop once and didn't care for them either. Also don't order from HHV anymore either. I still have HHV juice in a juice tackle box that has been steeping for over a year now and is probably not even good anymore. Never liked MBV juice either, price was right but too artificial tasting.

Funny thing is Ahlusion Smooth Criminal is one of my ADV's and love it from fresh to well steeped. But trying their other juice haven't found anything else from them that I've fallen in love with. It's good, but nothing I would order large bottles of and keep in my rotation.
To me Ahlusion is a top notch company and will keep trying to find something else I will love with their samples as I reorder SC.

My new other ADV is Nicoticket The Virus (H1N1). This too is good for me from fresh to well steeped. It is constantly changing and really love how they run their company as well. If I ever make it out to Nebraska (doubtful) I would love to meet up with Clark and have a few beers and a vape with him. My two cents.

I told hubby when we got it to use it like that, but he doesn't listen. Didn't believe the vendor when he said this juice was exclusive. I told him that some juices are like a fine wine. That there are some rare "vintages". Didn't believe me either, and he told me to locate another source for it while he continued to vape it away. So I spent a day hunting online and found that my vendor is one of the rare vendors who still had it in stock. Now he believes me. He's still hitting it hard, but not as hard as he was. I can slow him down some more by refusing to service the dripper he's using for it.

It is on elf those juices that doesn't emulate anything else. You know? As much as some people love mothers milk, I've had a few that taste similar, at least to me. That's the only juice my fiancé vapes; but, one bottle lasts her a solid week to week and half, so it's not a big deal to me. So long as she keeps it at that pace, I'm ok with it. I'm the one that rips through 8-10 ml of juice a day. But staying away from premium juices most of the time it's no biggie. I spend about 75$ a month on juice for me and 88 a month for her.
Just glad she sticks with protanks.

Hmm, these guys are three miles away from me ! Checked their prices though, my god they charge more than the vape stores in Manhattan for hardware. I never understood why vape shops have such a ridiculous mark-up on hardware. They do most of their sales on liquid anyway, it just creates bad will. I am already less likely to check them out when i see they are charging $ 100 for a SVD for example. Shame.

yup taste is unique. I started ordering from Ahlusion about four months ago. I have tried sixteen flavours including the samples, and Smooth Criminal ranks in the bottom third. Just doesn't do it for me. The Caramel Wild Wood on the other hand immediately found it's way into my regular rotation. Funny thing is that the Smooth Criminal reminded me of HHV tobaccos which are still my main staple of NET's. It reminded me more of Sludge and Legend though, just a little lighter imo. Those two where not my favorite HHV tobaccos.

Five Pawns-

I am completely amazed by their marketing and bottling. It's first class, and even that is barely showing it the respect it deserves. But wow, the flavor- like others have said, it seems as if all of their juice has the same base, which tastes like what old socks smell like. Just horrid. I can detect subtle notes of the different flavor in the background, but at the end of the day the main ingredient in the vanilla, bourbon old socks blend is still old socks...

Between marketing, packaging and forum reviews, the expectations of this brand was astronomical. I wanted to like it so much. Every week at the vape shop, I try them all again to see if it's any better, but unfortunately its not.

I guess I'm just simple. I don't need 10-15 different things happening during a vape. I'm happy with simplicity, but I occasionally branch out into light complexity.

This is why I only buy juice there. Otherwise, it's the most comfy vape shop on Staten Island I've visited thus far. A couple couches, pool table, etc... There's more overhead for a brick and mortar shop, so it reflects on their pricing. They're still a great resource though, and there needs to be more of them. There are a lot of people out there who wouldn't go and couldn't go online to learn how to troubleshoot their equipment, or get started on vaping. My husband and my sister for example. If not for me maintaining their equipment and physically showing them how to use it, they would not be vaping. My husband in particular, learns best by actually doing it himself, with me looking over his shoulder and directing him. Watching me does him no good, so videos would do him any good either. The owner here does take his time with people to show them things. They even helped me out with a stuck screw in a dripper. Replaced the screw after I stripped it too, free of charge. So, I support them in at least buying some juice now and again, plus it's nice to hang in a place full of like minded vapers, and they're actively signing people up for CASSA to boot.

Yeah, i hear you. I would also like to see more vape shops/lounges. And i don't begrudge anyone a living. On the other hand, when i see them charge prices higher than the tourist traps in St. Marx, i have mixed feelings. It's one thing to have a 100 % mark-up on juices and hardware. I understand that they have higher overhead than on-line stores. But higher than Manhattan ? Great customer service is all well and good, but when i see newbies shell out $ 60 on an eGo setup, part of me wants to pull them out of the store and tell them dude, just go on line and get it for twenty. It almost feels like they are taking advantage of people who don't know any better.

I think in the long run it works out better for them to make their profits on the already overpriced juice they sell and on drinks and coffee etc... and to have a reasonable markup on the hardware. Once the stream of newbies dries up, they need to make money off repeat customers, and i am telling you from personal experience, i felt taken advantage of, when i found out a couple of months after i bought my first setup, that i could have bought it for one third the price. Enough to never set foot in that store again. They lost my juice business at the expense of a one time profit for the eGo set up. I expected to pay a higher price than online, but not to that extent.

But, i'm sure they are nice people and mean well. It's just my personal opinion that they are being shortsighted.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. But I'm not so sure about the first part. And the latter may be an understatement.

You gotta be a skier to sell skis. LTBB.

Just sayin'.

Good luck all. Power to your vape.
