Last week I went with a buddy of mine to see Paranormal Activity 4. About 15 minutes into the movie, I see my buddy break out his eGo-C and started vaping right in the movie theater. It caught me a little off guard at first but shortly thereafter I broke out my eGo Twist and started vaping as well.

I have to say it was the most enjoyable experience ever but it did feel kind of taboo to me, like I was breaking the law or something. I guess it's all the heat smokers have gotten recently especially with all of the smoking bans as of late. I know that vaping is no where near the experience of smoking a cigarette but I at least try to be respectful when I'm out vaping in public. But I can't deny I really enjoyed vaping in the movie theatre. Needless to say there wasn't a lot of people in the theatre so I didn't let it get to me to much.

Where is the most taboo place you vape that a smoker would normally get heat for smoking in that same location?

I've vaped grocery shopping a few times, but the other day I heard a snark comment from a lady shopping with her two kids. Something about setting a good example. When I turned to look at her she had already turned and started walking away. I guess people have the courage to point things out when walking away more than facing someone. To be fair, I do understand her wanting to say something, but I would have also liked to explain what it was I was doing. The more public we are with our vaping, the more we will have to explain to people what were doing. I just hope that I run into more people that want to confront me than people that want to sneer out of the side of their face.

On the other hand, I can't wait to vape in a theatre. But I think I will be discreet, as I can understand that a plume of vapor can be just as distracting as a cell phone when your trying to enjoy a movie. Not to mention, some people just want to spout off if they see someone doing something THEY don't agree with.

A plume of vapor is more than just distracting in a movie theater. It can be downright deadly. Smoking was banned in movie theaters after some idiot yelled fire and someone was trampled to death in the panic to get out. You wouldnt believe the places that you were able to smoke at 30 years ago....Home Improvement stores, some grocery stores, every fast food restaurant out there and even in the movies.

I stealth vape in movie theaters all the time just remember to be careful, that vapor could be misconstrued as smoke from a fire and we definitely dont need that kind of negative attention.

In the grocery store might not seem like a big deal, but it was awesome. I forced myself to not be discrete or out there, just normal. Some people want a small device so as to be discrete, but actually, I think it helped that I had my Zmax with a big tank on it, because whenever I got a look, people knew it was not an analog. If I had a green smoke e cig, someone may have said something, who knows. The theater is awesome, gotta try it. Actually, the most taboo is my house, haha. I have an infant so smoking within a light-year of her is out of the question, but vaping at home is awesome. I am a believer in second hand vapor, so I make sure that I keep the vapor away. Once it has disapperaed I feel that to be safe. What do you think?

Haha, I didn't even think of the stampede scenario. Good point.

movie theater (packed house, plumes in the air, didn't give a you know what), restaurant (i went to the bathroom though), many stores while walking the aisles (giving zero you know whats), work, the sprint store (amazing how fast customer service comes when they think you're doing something wrong)....and a few others i'm sure i'm missing somewhere lol

...the way i see it is, i've just stopped caring as much....at first i kept it to myself and vaped only where i would smoke....but now, i really just stopped caring as i'm NOT smoking.

Very impressive. While I know you stopped caring did you get any heat for vaping in these places? If so, how did you handle it?

never once did i get asked except one time while in lowes while looking at copper pipe, when he asked what i was doing, i took a vape, then held out my provari and said: "see this? i'm making one, and i need copper pipe, it's an electronic cigarette" he sorta gave me a blank stare and walked away.

Vaping where you can't smoke is not a good idea IMO. Most people don't know what an e-cig is (especially if you have a mod) and walking around blowing clouds is going to give them a bad impression of them.

I think people that vape anywhere because they don't give a .... are just as bad as non-smokers that take up vaping. It mostly seems like it's new people that thinks it's ok to pull that type of .... as well. If someone was in front of me in a theater vaping freely (I'm looking through their vape clouds), we would have a problem.

I generally don't vape where I can't smoke. If that means going outside with the smokers than so be it. If I'm in a situation where I can stealth vape I might do it, but 90% of the time I don't.

I would like to make it easier, not harder, for others to switch from smoking to vaping than it was for me so I don't vape any place where it is not welcome. Most everyone has a friend or relative that smokes even if they don't smoke themselves. Offending people off the bat seems a poor way to win people over to supporting vaping.

Stealth vape! Master it, love it :) I'm from the keeping it low-key camp. Really no need to attract undue attention/bad impression to vapers from what you're doing. I know how satisfying it is to watch huge plumes of vapor go up till it disappears, but you know, indoors, with other people around who may/may not know/like what you're doing, why deal with the hassle?

One time i was vaping in a underground parking lot and some lady yelled at me for smoking, told me i could blow up this whole structure. Told her it was electric and being the ignorant fool that she was told me it didnt matter. walked away minding my own business vaping away blowing as big clouds as I can.
