Not yet, but I'm trying. I am dealing with a hard core group of smokers. Wish me luck!
I was hard core too; 43 years of menthol smoking. I didn't start vaping because I wanted to quit smoking, because I DIDN'T want to quit at all. I started vaping so I wouldn't HAVE TO quit! I'm a five time cancer survivor and just didn't want to use tobacco products anymore, but since I've smoked for almost my whole life, the habit and ritual of it is pretty solidly ingrained in my nature. I look at vaping as a way to keep right on 'smoking' but without having to use cigarettes, without having to go outside to get my nicotine, without having to roll the window down on the car and get pelted in the face with rain, etc.
When I started vaping, I really had NO expectation of having it get me away from 'analogs.' My son had been converted by a friend of his and my son got me started while I was visiting his family over Christmas; I actually bought the first setup just to make him happy. Three days after I started, I thought I wanted to see what a "real" cigarette would be like compared to my vape. I got in my car and backed out of my son's driveway, opened a brand new pack of cigarettes, took one out and lit it up. I hit it once at the stop sign, turned right and hit it again at the end of the block when I came to the next stop sign. I then rolled my window down the rest of the way and threw it out on the street (was so repelled by it that I didn't even think to put it out in the closed ashtray that I STILL keep in my car) and picked up my vape. I've never smoked another cigarette since then. I am at this moment 27 minutes short of 90 days without tobacco.
I converted my daughter, two of my granddaughters and an ex-son in law over the next month or so from the time I started. I also converted a non smoker who is a diabetic; I got her to try 0mg nic juice in fruit and candy flavors to satisfy her desire for sweets. I think she now has almost as much gear as I do, lol!
