Just chiming in with my take on a couple of MOV's custards. I've had them for a couple of months now so they're probably as good now as they're going to get. I've been vaping them in rotation with a bunch (like a dozen bottles) of Ahl liquids I've also been sampling. (I'm looking for new diketone-free ADVs.)
Gotti: When I first tried it FOOB, I thought "meh" - not bad, not great. Looking back, I think what I was missing was the thick, buttery feeling I get in my mouth when I vape other vendors' custards. As I understand it, that sensation is what you get from diketones, which is what I'm trying to stay away from. At the time, there was also a bit of a bite that I couldn't identify. After a bit of a steep, I loaded it in my little dripper and found that once I accepted that I was not going to get that "diketone" sensation in my mouth, the taste was pretty good. I also figured out that the "bite" tasted like a hint of lemon. I googled "Italian custard" and there it was - lemon zest or lemon peel. Not sure if this can be my "Custard's Last Stand" replacement, but I'll probably re-order this until I find a better diketone-free custard. If you like Italian custard, give it a try - just don't expect that thick diketone sensation.
Omerta: FOOB, I tasted something green. Didn't like it at all. It has toned down considerably with a good steep, but I can still taste that "green" thing in the background. It is definitely vapable now, but I'm not sure that I'll re-order this one. Still have about half-bottle left, so we'll see. At this point, I guess I like it but don't love it. The whole "diketone" sensation thing applies here too.
I'll probably give Capone a try at some point, but I'd also like to try some of MOV's other flavors (Red Drop, Strawberry Brûlée, Vanilla Dream, Chai Tea Latte, Grape Onya, -- and on and on....)
