daddy loved to take us on picnics and he loved to take us to the beach. I always burned because my skin is so fair. So, while Daddy and sister were out swimming and playing, I was under a strange little home made tent that Mom had made by putting part of the beach towel in the window of the car and rolling it up and the other end she had anchored with rocks...err something. It was strange. lol

I have heard a lot of this lately. Guys, when your phone gets to smart for its own good, time to trash it and get an old fashioned one that lets you say what you want. WHo wants to be controlled and regulated by their own phone??? aaarrrrrrhhhh

I grew up with just my Mom, too... and I used to give her a card on Father's Day as well...

And in some ways there was an advantage to not having a man around the house, because we both had to learn to fix things ourselves... so I'm pretty handy to have around!! ;) LOL!!

Yeah, me too. I've restored a house and built furniture from scratch. Anything anything used to break, we'd take it apart and see what made it work/not work. If we couldn't fix it, we learned something anyway.
