hey there I did a lil bit of looking around quickly and though I'd just post. My wife and I were both sharing our eGO kit, she had her atomizer and I had mine. Mine recently died though so I ended up stealing hers (unfair I know but in my defense she offered:p ) She would always complain about taste and throat hurting, and I had always assumed it was just the typical dry throat and dislike of the liquid or a dirty cart.

Anyways since switching to hers I now see what she meant and ma curious if anything can be done to fix it since my atty NEVER did it. Basically the entire back of my mouth, roof of mouth, and under tongue feel blistered, I used to smoke pipes and I can say it's very similar to "tongue bite" but definitely not completely the same. I DO find that drinking cold pop seems to help a little bit, but I don't like drinking pop often due to the sugar and other things in it. Water seems to do nothing to relieve it.

I've also found the longer I do without refilling the cart the more I experience the burning feeling/aweful taste. The problem though is it seems to do it when the cart is near completely full too (like I'll think it's getting low and add a drop or 2 of liquid and it's almost overflowing in the cart)

Is this normal and might attribute to why my other atty that didn't do this burned out? a dirty atomizer? a faulty atomizer? So far I have been almost a week without a single cigarette and all and I absolutely LOVE not smoking, but I fear I might go back if this continues because I can tell you it is definitely NOT a pleasent feeling and both the wife and I experience it with the same atty.

We plan to order a few replacement atty's very soon but if this one can be saved or if this is normal for them would be great to know. Thanks in advance :)

I know exactly what you're feeling but unfortunately, I don't know the answer. I have this problem off and on since about 6 weeks after I started vaping. I've used a combination of liquids (PG, VG, PG/VG and VG/PG) and it doesn't seem to make any difference. It happens out of the blue and goes away in a few days regardless of what I do or don't do. I've used attys and cartomizers and direct dripped. It started out just affecting my tongue but now it mainly affects the roof of my mouth right behind my teeth on the ridges area. I drink lots of fluids, sometimes chew gum but mostly use a spray for sore throat when it hits until it subsides. Here's a thread we had going a couple of months ago.

Dont forget to wash the mouthpieces if its a cart - with a carto im not sure how you would do that (maybe those wipes you can use for babie's food trays/hands etc, something safe) but if its in your mouth all the time it will pick up liittle germs (like if yo have a cold or something) so keep it clean.
Otherwise keep drinking, drink a lot, ALWAYS have a drink when vaping - mucus membranes dry out very fast with both PG and VG so you must keep hydrated.

As for liquids I have tried a variety of types and strengths along with pg and vg. And didn't have the problem at all with the other atty so makes me wonder, though as I mentioned that one did die after like 2 or 3 weeks of use.

I did NOT know however you should prime the atty after only like 5 or 6 hits mind you, I probably refill every 20 or so? maybe more or less. I generally try hard not to overfill it though, as it is most every time I change the battery can see liquid resting on the contact point of the battery and the atty, luckily the eGO is a sealed battery but still.

I DO try and make sure I am ALWAYS drinking as I'm vaping, and I did notice it seemed to start out on the side of my tongue, and it just fealt VERY dry and nothing I did was able to rehydrate it, I guess I'll just try drinking even more as I vape, and could be cuts or something caused from drying out though it really does feel more burned then anything.

One thing I HAVE noticed it it seems the carts I have like to melt on the sides closest to the atty when I use them and I wonder if it may be just poor quality carts causing it, or it that's entirely normal.

In any case wife and I are going to order some replacement atty's tonight and hope they do the job

Thanks as well for the link Lynda, I'm definitely gunna spend a bit of time going over that whole post for additional info and see if can find anything. I DEFINITELY don't want to have to quit vapeing though, I hadn't gone a full day without a single cigarette in over 15 years before I started vaping and I am LOVING being smoke free.

ok good to know that's at least normal then:) had never thought about shaving a bit off of it though, that would just make sense lol. I still have a strong feeling it's something to do specifically with the aty though, because literally from the first time I used hers I noticed a horrible taste and started to experience it.

For now just waiting till the new atty's come and then will try cleaning this one and may just do the trick (don't want to risk any chance at all of killing it without a backup though heh)

I know EXACTLY what you mean, and I noticed it happens moreso when I'm vaping my 510s REALLY HOT. I make sure now not to take a huge rip when I taste Nichrome, bc then I'll burn my tastebuds off. Remember, just because we're vaping doesn't mean we're not breathing in HOT vapor! :2c:

I still have this issue 2 months in, and the only thing I have noticed in common has been strength of the nicotine (24mg), flavor (ivape.net's watermelon especially but still love it), and sometimes after eating I will get a slight burn from all juices. It might be more to do with chemicals in the mouth reacting but that is not a scientific guess or anything. I have made a 75VG/25PG 13mg DIY with menthol crystals, and that is the only juice that does not burn on any occasion. Most other juices I have are 65 PG/35 VG. Hope this helps a bit.

I started using Biotene Toothpaste and mouth rinse (made for dry mouth) and it has helped. In my case I think that I get a sore tongue when I vape too much menthol. I have started taking a break from menthol and it has helped too.

Thanks for this info! I'm going to find some. I bought some sore throat spray that contains glycerin and a numbing agent but it only works for a few minutes. I bought a bottle of plain glycerin and mixed a tad of vanilla in it for flavor and drop it in on my tongue and swish. It helps a bit too. The toothpaste and rinse sounds like it might take care of the issue. I never use menthol liquid but I am a vapeaholic and rarely is my PV more than a few inches away from my mouth so it more than likely is a drying issue, even though I drink lots and lots of liquids.

I had that same thing the first day. I ended up running the atty under hot water, then blowing it out. Once I was comfortable with it being dry enough I used it again, the vape was 100x better. Since then all the juices taste better, more vapor production, and no burning taste.

Make sure you prime the atty afterwards with a drop of ejuice.

I assume you blew out the primer on the atty before use? That stuff makes me ill and burns my mouth up.

Yeah I did blow out the primer, but it still didn't have the smoothness it does now after I cleaned it good. My vaping experience went from good to great just from cleaning out the atty.
