I am still fairly new to the whole e-cig world, but I was wondering if they make some kind of cardboard mouthpiece that actually feels more like a filter cigarette?
I know there would be leaking cart and sanitary issues, but I am surprised I haven't really seen anybody discussing it.

Brian--the Cartridge has to have the ability to snap into the atomizer and withstand the hear just like the polyester core--so I do not think you will ever find a cartridge made out of cardboard--but I understand what you are trying to say---the switch is real easy to a hard cartridge after a little time passes-----Sun

As a side note regarding mouth pieces and comfort, I recently got a mini pipe and they have soft mouthpieces. These carts/mouth pieces fit 801 pens and they are more or less amazing. They are slightly soft and malleable and are seriously great feeling. You can better grip your pen/pipe without either tearing the mouth piece up with your teeth, or vice versa.

My mini pipe came with regular plastic mouthpieces. It was definitely not soft! :(

I'd like to see silicone covers or something on the mouthpieces. Also, does anyone know where I can get flat mouthpieces for the rn4081? I have a few of those that I would use if the mouthpiece was smaller and I think I've seen pics of them, but I have no idea where to find them to buy.

Thanks Sun,
The switch has been a little easier since I got a mini with a flat mouthpiece. It seems to be a little more accomodating than that huge e-cig I got a while back.

hmmm....wonder if there is a save liquid latex that could be used? I would think that if you put a tooth-pik or pin into your mouthpiece (like a cork), the dipped it in liquid latex, you could make a soft malleable coating.

Sounds like a modder challenge to me!

I love... let me stress that again love the soft mouthpieces that came with the mini-pipe. So much that I ordered a crapload (that's a technical term, btw) of them for use with all of my devices that accept them... my pen, and my 801 atomizers for my screwdriver.

I regularly keep my device (well, except for the screwdriver) clenched in my teeth... so the soft tip is a godsend.

the mouthpiece was the one thing i had to get used to when i started vaping.. a long long time ago in a galaxy... anyway.. i used to have a few cigarette holders, so a hard mouthpiece was noting new. the size, shape, style, etc though was new. I am not used to a round mouthpiece i can't bite down on, especially with something that far outweighs a normal smoke.

i have gotten used to it for the most part now, but i can see how a soft mouthpiece would be a godsend in the tactile feedback realm. i even went so far as to make my own using some heatshrink tube and a cigarette filter, of course it increased the overall size of the e-cigarette, so.. not exactly a win-win situation.

Thats the word Trintek,
Tactile was the word I was looking for, it really would go a long way even to make a demo or a starter kit for smokers to at least try it out....if you really want them to cross over "to the dark side" so to speak. THEN slam em with the hard stuff. :) The e-cig I got felt more like one of those Camel Wide gauges -I would compare to sucking on a shotgun. Since I originally posted I have found some smaller e-cigs that look more traditionial size but without the soft filter, but I might give them a try. My mini is really growing on me and right before our cigarette breaks, I find myself wanting it more than a real smoke...

PartySmoker (netherlands) has soft mouthpieces on a lot of his cartridges, so if they aren't obtainable from other (european) sellers, ordering some from there is one way to get them in, at least for europe (not on all cartridges though, so read or ask which ones before ordering).
As for 'original filters' - there is one e-cig that has those: Supersmoker. I wouldn't recommend that one though, and as for the mouthpieces: those get wet and soggy and unhygienic very soon after you start using them.

Ask your mini pipe suppliers about the soft mouthpieces. I was actually looking at advertisements from a Chinese wholesaler when i saw the softies first, and was so damn happy when my mini pipe came with them. Seriously they are sexy!

I must admit I was a little wary of the soft mouthpiece when I got mine, but then I came to it from a pipe, and was used to hard mouthpieces. But I found I got used to it quite quickly, and it's not so soft I've bitten the end off yet, though I keep it clenched in my teeth for hours at a time.

I can see that it would certainly appeal to cigarette smokers - it's hard enough to maintain its shape (and not to accidentally bite through,) but yielding enough to better replicate the feel of a cigar or cigarette.

I've never seen one, but if they made a cylindrical mouthpiece in this grade of rubber, I think it would feel almost indistinguishable to a cigarette filter. A feature suggestion perhaps?

Funnily enough, liquid latex and heatshrink tubing were the two things I thought of before I even received my first e-cig. Both easily obtainable and pretty safe IMO. However, the reason I haven't done it....
of course it increased the overall size of the e-cigarette, so.. not exactly a win-win situation.
but I would love more tactile mouthpieces! :)
