Hi folks,

First post here. I've been reading the forum for almost a year and I am really impressed with how welcoming the e-cig community is. So thanks in advance!

I smoked a pack a day for way too long and last December decided to buy an e-cig. This has worked out wonderfully for me. I've relapsed a couple of times, but have now been analog (and analog-desire) free for two full, uncorrupted months.

My only e-cigs are two Joye 510 models that I bought almost a year ago. They've lasted me a long time (get this-- I'm using the same atomizers, too! You believe that? The power of regular maintenance...) but I think it's time to get something new. They've become way less effective than they first were.

So what do ya'll recommend? I like their diminutive size but I will under no circumstances compromise vapor putout/throat hit for size. I'm also just so sick of the high maintenance battery/atty. And the amount of things I've tried for filters! The PTB seems to finally work well, but I just hate having to futz with the thing every couple days.

Thanks in advance everyone!

I am a GUY from L.A. not girl. lol
I recomend stepping up to an eGo USB batt. I love mine. Works as a PT, but then you can disconect it and use it as a regular 650mAh eGo. I also recomend the eGo mega attys. They are some serious vapor makers, and the cart holds 2.5 ml. Liberty flights has the eGo USB batts for $20 on sale. Electronic Cigarette - Pass-throughs - Joye eGo
Plus you can still use your 510 attys if you chose to, but Ill never use 510 stuff on an eGo again after trying the eGo mega attys.

What exactly are you looking for in an upgrade?

Just more battery life? Then eGo or Riva batteries would do the trick. You could also step up to something like The Chuck which has 2 days of battery life on a single charge.

Are you looking for a different vaping experience? Then one of the numerous mods would fit the bill. Maybe you want something variable voltage like the Buzz, the Little Sister, or an Nhaler Tekk mod. If you're tired of messing with filler, you may want to try a mod with a juice feeder, such as the Wet Box or the REO. (or you may just want to try dripping) Perhaps you just want a fixed high voltage device like a 5v Box Mod.

If you tell us more about what you're looking for we could make better suggestions. Otherwise, most people are just going to post what they currently like the best which may not be what you're looking for.

+1. I moved up to one of these. I got a 900mah ego battery at the same time, and today realized I've used the PT, and ONLY the PT, since last Saturday. It's really just the perfect concept... PT when you're near a USB port, so it's charging while you're vaping there, then just unplug and go with no worries for like 8+ hours.

I use mine with a delrin drip-tip on a LR cartomizer, and I love that setup. Easy to keep "topped off", but when I hit the road, I don't have to touch it for hours. (Remember, kids: Don't Drip and Drive, lol).

Oh, and your magic attys (a year? really? how the hell are YOU cleaning them? Really, what's your secret?) will just transfer over.

Sorry for the delayed bump guys.

I kept my atomizers working by cleaning them every two weeks. I clean them more often now because I've started vaping more heavily, though. I still can't believe that I got a full year out of two 510 batteries and two 510 atomizers. At least I got my money's worth.

I'm thinking I am probably going to buy an eGo. I spent half a year abroad and before I left I don't think the eGo was on the market yet. If it was, no one talked about it. Now it seems to be the model of choice for most vapers (vaporers?) here. The USB battery seems extremely sweet. Does anyone have any preferred distributors? Thanks again for all the info!

walkindown33,

Cignot.com has great reviews and their prices are excellent as well! I have just received an order from them...super fast shipping. I ordered on Monday...which by the way was a holiday....and received my order today, Thursday. I highly recommend them and I am sure alot of other fellow vaporers would too.

Happy Vaping! :vapor:

Well I have my eGo now. Third day with it, and I am extremely happy. I'm using a XL Cartomizer and will try out the mega-atty/cart combo soon. I didn't vape a whole lot today and my first fill lasted me 10 hours. If I vape heavily like almost non-stop it lasts me 4-5 hours. I got the 900mah batteries and they last me 11.5 hours if I vape very heavily all day and today my battery is still going strong after 15 hours. This is a huge change in much much less maintenance and it is so much more consistent than a standard 510 setup. With the XL carto I am also finding I get plumes of vapor and better/more flavor too. There is also much less mess not having to deal with topping off all the time. I am really enjoying the switch.
