I'd like to take a quick moment and introduce myself, I'm new to vaping and just found this forum after buying an XHale o2 from a local 7-11. I had tried a couple disposable e-cigarettes while I worked for a small tobacco distributor but hated the taste of them, but this xhale managed to convince me to take the plunge into vaping full time.

There is a ton of information here on ECF and it'll take a while to really take it all in, but I'm considering a DSE-801 or a Joye 510 as my next step. I'm leaning toward the 801 since I'd rather have a cool vapor and loads of flavor. But I've read several posts that say the 510 is better (and vice-versa) and I really don't want to buy something and immediately find out I bought the wrong one. Am I just reading too much into this or am I missing something? Thanks!

xanas, welcome! Yes there is a ton of information and I too bought one which was a 510 style and then upgraded and went to the ego, which is interchangable with the ego as well...and love my ego's....still new, almost 4 weeks in....but loving it, easy to operate, easy to get supplies, etc...I have the 650 batts and had both with me for over 10 hrs on sat and didn't have to recharge, so looking forward to getting a 1000 batt on them...LOL...And then onto the E-juices which is TOTAL personal preference....but there are so many different places to try out...have fun with it, even if you get one you kinda like but want more, you can always have additional sets for different modes of the day...ya know? I know I didn't help much, and I know you didn't mention the ego, but figured I'd toss it out there.....I got mine at Cignot.com and it got to me in 4 days...and they had free shipping, 69 for a complete set of two and your chargers etc....MUCH success to you!

I upgraded my ego experience by grabbing a usb charging 650mAh from janty. Love it! (this is using 510 LR atties.)

My second PV was an ego and I loved it for the battery life but I ended going back to my starter set which was an 808d-1. The 510s just always had a burnt flavor to me ... However, I really like the 801 atty but not so much the penstyle. I picked up a Joye Stick V3 and really love it... it’s small, palmable, the batteries are the small 10400 but they are cheap and last me 1/2 the day. They take the 801 attys and there is a 510 atty adapter for it... plus you can charge it usb style and use it plugged in. Janty is the designer of them and there is a Janty version also.

I just got mine in the mail this morning, direct from China! Got that, a 900maH battery, cone & charger. I love it so far.

Xanas, like a lot here, I started on the 510 (after a six-day bout with a "free trial" :( )... I love my 510, and I'll still use it, especially when something that looks like a friggin' 500 Remington round (got my ego in plain steel) might draw undue attention... but the eGo is a pretty bada$$ lil' unit. Like a 510 on steroids. For those starting out, the 510-to-eGo upgrade is basically painless, since all your carts and attys "transfer over" without needing any adapters (but I've got those too).

If having something that looks like a cigarette isn't too high on your priorities list, go eGo. The 510 is a great model, if somewhat of a short battery life. No experience with the 801, so I can't really tell ya there... but most of the 510'ers I've run into here either have or are getting an eGo.

Burnt flavor is usually a prime indicator of burned juice. Adding a bit of Vegetable Glycerine resolves this issue but mutes the flavor. If you make your own liquids you can accomodate that, or if you are purchasing from a vendor who advertises on ECF many of them should be able to tweak it for you. I love the 510 for the smaller size and perceived increased oompf.

Definately try at the very least one of each the primaries if you find your interest in PVs waning: 808, 801, 510. There are many other standard models, but most people seem to prefer one of these. As mentioned before, you can get adaptors for about a buck a piece from some venders.

Wow, lots of great ideas. I didn't know about the 510/801 adaptors and that will probably be the route I'll go. Pick up an 801 starter kit and then next month grab an eGo battery and adaptor so I can have the best of both worlds the larger battery of the 510/eGo series and the 801 atty. I do like the look of the eGo and the Jaunty USB chargable one looks great and definately something I'll checkout.

So far I've had my XHale 3 days and today is the first without an analog. So this is a whole new world and very exciting, I know I'll be around with questions, thanks for all the feedback!

You could go the opposite route and get the Ego kit and buy 801 adapter and attys, cheaper way to go and best of everything you like so far.

Love the comment about the "500 remington calling attention"...too funny.

CaptJay is right, revere the one that got you into it. At the vape meet on Saturday, I went directly to the Volcano reps and told them their earlier model was what got me off smoking. He gave me a big hug. I told them even though I have moved on to other models, I will always remember what started it all. Mainly it was the excellent customer service from Volcano that gave me that first positive experience and made it work for me.

Foebea, I recognize that twisted drip tip:) Have the same one as a matter of fact.

Hi Xanas, nice to see a fellow Zonie!

I have the 801 (started with it) and penstyle atomizers are pretty great. The 302 low bridge atomizer is compatible with the 801 you have bought so sometime you might want to consider trying one of those.

You don't have PMs set up, so I'd like to invite you to join the VIP (Vaping in Phoenix) social group. You'll have to click the link to join before you can post in the social group forum. VIP - Vaping in Phoenix Check out the threads for info. on our monthly get togethers and post to introduce yourself to the group if you decide to join us.

    Welcome to ECF!

CaptJack... er... CaptJay's advice is definitely good advice. I do like the Xhale o2 and plan on passing it on to my wife for use with flavored non-nicotine vapors. That's my excuse to get another for myself, passing my current one on.

I found a good price on an 801 locally and compared prices and can't find any better online once shipping is factored in, so I'll probably pick it up sometime over the next few days.

and @Hellen - Thanks for the invite, I saw the VIP group right away when I first found these forums and was sad I had just found out about the meetup the night it had happened. I'll swing by the VIP forum and introduce myself, I'd love to find out more about the local community.
