Mt Baker Vapor - Hazelnut Coffee

First let me say I love MBV. I've loved almost every juice I've sampled from them, with a very small number of exceptions.

But I'm really confused...

I received buttered popcorn as a free sample upon request, and I tried it, and, well, it's not very good. That's ok, though, not everyone can nail everything.

But then I ordered hazelnut coffee. After having their caramel coffee and loving it (could very well become my new ADV), I primed a fresh carto and tank with the hazelnut coffee.

But guess what it tastes like?

Buttered popcorn.

Yeah, I know, right? But I had my non-vaping roommate taste it (he likes to sample my flavors for the fun of it). I didn't tell him what flavor it was. He vaped it, vaped it again, smacked his tongue inside his mouth, and said, "Popcorn".

?!

Has anyone else who has tried MBV hazelnut coffee get the popcorn flavor instead of coffee?

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I DID ask MBV for buttered popcorn as a sample, thinking I'd like it. Now that I do have a flavor that tastes like popcorn, I'm being whiny. ;-)

It's not just mbv. It must be the ingredients. My mocha Java smooth from hhv tastes exactly like buttered popcorn. It was good for the first week but now... Stinks

I wonder what ingredients cause this? I know mixing techniques are a trade secret, but sometimes I'd like to know what flavors they're mixing and matching.

Nope did not get a buttered popcorn flavor from Hazelnut coffee. Actually love Hazelnut coffee and soon as I need juice I'm getting
a large bottle of it

I guess it would help if I knew what a real hazelnut tastes like. I'm not a coffee drinker, waaaaaay too sensitive to caffeine, but I love coffee flavor. I got a lot of it from caramel coffee, but only popcorn from hazelnut coffee.

You are probably tasting Acetyl Pyrazine. It is used as a flavor enhancer to give a nutty taste, but it also gives a popcorn taste depending on it's application and personal taste.
