I'm very sorry to hear that, it's frustration and maddening. I had that happen to me about 2 years ago, I had requested that they send me paper bills instead of e-mail bills and I had confirmed a few times with some of the customer reps who assured me that I was being sent paper bills, well I didn't get one but went online to pay my bill as that is how I always pay, the payment was made at 7:00am I went to bed and was awakened by the LACK of sound as I have to sleep (when I am able) with a fan blowing on me and if it does out I know it immediately, anyway, I went outside to see if there was a power outage all 5 of my neighbors had power so I went around to where the Power Meter is and caught the guy who had his truck backed in and wanted to know what the hell was going on he told me that it was disconnected for non-payment, told him it was paid etc, etc, he didn't want to discuss it, I told him he could come in to see my receipt on the computer he wouldn't do it and said there was nothing he could so, I got ...... and told him to call his office which he also didn't want to do, I mean come on it's a friggin phone call, well he was going to do it they got real pissy with me, big mistake, but I held back but decided he was leaving until he contacted his office, he got in his truck to leave and I got in front of it and would not let him out, this went on for 15 minutes and he finally gave up and called the office and they confirmed it was their mistake, well he put the meter back in, next months bill comes and there was an additional charge for restoring service, well 1 1/2 hours of arguing with the damn electric company they finally applied their screw up to my next bill.

As Kelli I hate all these damn monopolies!

Sorry to hear all this, but I use to be that guy. Mind you, at that time, 2003 and prior, I could accept a check from you, good or bad, I'd take it. But then those blood thirsty Exec's became more greedy. The reason I believe is because for 70+ years, company's and people did what was right. Mid - late 80's, that all stopped. We've had probably 5 CEO's since then, and they all have to scrape closer and closer to the marrow of the bone to sqeeze what little scrap money is left over from the last guy.

It's really just called micro-management, and it keeps getting worse. They are presently borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. Similar to ALL those heartless politicians:evil: we keep excusing.

I hate those kinds of shifts. I spent a year working 6pm-6am shifts 4 days a week with a 45 minute commute each way when I was younger. By the fourth day I was always a zombie.

today is my zombie day.. i do 7p-7a with a 45 min -hr drive. PINK CHAMPAGNE SAVE ME.

Thank you, Ramjet! I hadn't thought of that, but you're right. And I've got *reams* of documentation worthy of bringing to the PUC's attention.... plus, pretty bad PR to kill the power to a house where there are two people in power wheelchairs and one on oxygen, right? (Yes, there are medical letters on file saying they're not allowed to cut the power without notice. No, the power company doesn't care. And just for the icing on the cake, I don't remember the last time we were genuinely late with the bill... the rent and electricity always get paid before all else, cause those are the two things we'd be *really* screwed without.)

This could be quite a bit of fun, actually.

Thanks again.

Hahahahaha...sorry, but YOU got em:toast with that post! I'm certain you will be given an apology on this. The PUC reacts fairly fast (10 days I believe) on contacting the utility co.

Congratulations on your rebuttal and refund:mail: around Christmas time:)

banks are just as bad when it comes to timing so they can charge you overages. one time my paycheck was late being auto deposited and i had all my bills autopay on that day. well, they boinked me $30 for each one. i called and told them my check was late, and they had no sympathy. he told me it cost the bank that much for each overdraft. i said bull..... and screamed at him. (i do that on occasion) it's bad enough when you are just barely able to get by, then the bank gouges you and makes things worse! god i hate them. grrrrrrrrr. did you know that banks make $32 billion on overdraft charges per year???!!!!! and it's all free money for them. they didn't do anything to earn it! BOA was actually fined if I remember correctly for running an algorithm that caused the most overdrafts, bastages! !!!

so on my drive into work, a truck honked at me. I roll down my window. He asks ' you gonna pass that over?' Lol I'm like its an electronic cigarette, it won't get you high lol. He said something about how I didn't expect to get a laugh on my drive. I laughed. It was weird. This is why I want a very simple cigalike..

i like BOA now. about 5-6 years ago, they changed some fees. i called to ask about them. the gal i talked to said i was nuts and that the new fees weren't new. i told her to pull up my account and look the fees anytime previous. she said that she wouldn't and i was a liar!

they record calls, right? next opportunity that i had, i went into a tiny, little branch office. the nice manager lady was aghast! she put a little code next to my name, there will be no fees on my account! :thumb:

*echo's the sentiments towards electric companies*
they turned us off once.. hubby's a disabled vet - we got one of the service organizations to go to bat for us - got the reconnect fee waved - and now there's a sticker near the meter in case of another screwup.. oh,... we live in the sticks and ours was not the power to be turned off - neighbor was.... one number difference in the address - can't see the other house from the road.
re banks.. screw em! we use credit unions now

managed to vape my cafe coffee and johnny chimpo almost all gone while we were out today - put a good dent in the others too - I vape a lot at home but in the car... I must be half drinking juice.
