250 for cable + internet with HD channels included.. Uh, no.

So instead I have 100mbps internet and a server that I set up to automatically download our shows as they become available, plus I pay for Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime. So it is all covered. :) And I'm still paying about half what the cable companies want.

My only gripe is that Warner pulled all of their stuff from Netflix to start their own streaming service. On principal I won't spend the money for it. Warner needs to get with the program and stop being greedy.

$45 bucks for internet, period! though i am considering netflicks.

oh is she in for a rude awakening. i was watching a show the other night about people looking to buy houses in alaska. one couple found a house they liked but it had no indoor loo, it had an outhouse. of course the lady said, "oh i have no problem with it". trouble was, it was summer when they looked at the house. i think she would feel a little differently about trudging to the outdoor loo in 4 feet of snow with 60 below wind chills. just sayin'....

as seanchai said, there are no words! :p

My mother drives here for a living, and most days I truly think she's probably the only person in the metro area who knows how to drive, so yes, I agree with you. :) More than that, I can tell you *why* no one can drive here.... driver's ed is not required, and more than that, it's *expensive*.... it was $350 when I was in high school, and that's a good while ago now. The result of this is people in their thirties were trained to drive by their parents, who learned from their parents, who learned to drive on farm equipment. I'm not being snarky, it's the truth.... that's how all of my classmates learned. Who needs turn signals or to know how to merge on a tractor? Thus, everyone here, or at least everyone who grew up here, drives like they're the only one on the road. Add smartphones to that mix and forget it (and if you value your life, maintain a massive following distance).

The number of times I've been in the car when someone coming from the other direction crossed the center line.... thank God Mom is a good driver and we've (so far) always had a shoulder to run onto. 90% of the time I'm in a car, Mom is driving, because I have several friends whom I flat out refuse to ride with if they're behind the wheel. My nerves can't take the bumper riding, hairpin turning, turn-signal-optional driving style of native Georgians.

The city planning of Atlanta was done by five year old children who were first allowed to mainline sugar, I am convinced. Nothing runs true to cardinal directions, three quarters of the streets are one way, and whatever way that is, it's the *wrong* way. When your city's main interchange is officially called Spaghetti Junction, and no one is kidding... that's probably a bad sign.

I lived in Atlanta for four years and can attest to everything Sean said about it. I was afraid to drive for the first 3 weeks.

netflix streaming is awesome. $8 a month for unlimited viewing....and they have tons of good stuff.

Hulu Plus is good too. And I forgot to mention I run it all through my XBOX 360. I use the 360 more for shows than games these days. :)

georgians also don't know how to drive in inclement weather. whenever they get snow or ice there, the news sets up random cameras on the expressways, and the fun begins.....cars sliding and crashing merrily into each other and the guard rails. amazing.

Are you sure that wasn't in Arizona? Oh, right we don't get snow here that lasts long enough to get a video. But in Az people don't know how to drive in a rain storm. You can't expect that they'll do much better in snow.

Vaping cinnamon roll, hawk sauce and menthol because it's right here.

Vaping Moo Juice. I needed a change up.

So my Baker order did not come today. :( I guess I will have to wait another day to find out whether or not I got Eggnog or something else. USPS is starting to slow down.

I have also given up on friending people at the moment, the site is moving way too slow for me right now. I'll just wait until it is running smoother. :)

With all the talk of the new consoles coming out, I am the same way. I'll replace my ps3 when I need a new device to play NetFlix on!

Oh I will definitely wait to get the XBOX One. The RROD issue with the older 360's put me off buying new consoles. I'm not even sure the new-style one I have now won't eventually have issues, it still puts out a LOT of heat.

I <3 my ps3.. I've had it about 3 years. It has had problems twice, and both times it was the hard drive. It also managed to fix itself with minimal effort on my part. That said, I don't put much stress on it. 90% of the time it's on, it's streaming via NetFlix or Amazon.

Black Friday 2 weeks and 2 days away and I haven't figured out what
juice to order yet - omg.

I wish I had that problem. My cart's all ready to go. *twitch*

Re: Xbox, the *newest* console I have is a Playstation - the original. I love video games, I just never have the kind of cash to plunk down on a console, with what they're going for these days. I really wanted an XBox 360 for a while (Beatles Rock Band, OMG!), then gave that up as a lost cause (too expensive), and I wasn't paying attention to the next gen stuff at all till they announced that the new Forza Motorsport game will feature a Top Gear mode where you can *be* The Stig. It's a running joke amongst my friends and family that my mother *is* The Stig, and/or could beat The Stig, so... yeah, now I want an Xbox One. Which is still far too expensive for me to justify, but man that would be fun.

(For those who do not watch the UK version of Top Gear, The Stig is their tame racing driver who does the test laps of all the cars they review (amongst other things). Top Gear UK is an order of magnitude better than the US knockoff, which I tried to watch exactly once before turning it off in disgust. It's just not funny without Jeremy yelling "POWER!" and James being a pedantic professor about everything and Richard calling them both idiots. Besides, the original Top Gear guys have done insane things like cross the Kalahari Desert in cars, while from what I can tell, the US guys just act like rednecks... I can watch people do *that* out my window, as we've recently discussed! ;) )

Good show. I've watched every episode, but the specials are my favorites. I am hoping they do a new one when they come back this Christmas.
