I can so relate to this. Pretty sure that's how I made it through my childhood also, for similar reasons, for me it was cats, and I love animals more than many humans I've met.

Same with mine, rescue who happens to be pureblood and totally rare to find in a rescue. I've only ever rescued and the one dog we didn't rescue when I was a kid was the only one who died of cancer before the age of 2. My dog now, Nugget, he's a special dude. They're solid dogs but you've never met an animal who can do pathetic better than my Nugget. The other day, a vizla PUPPY stole his water dish from him at the park and growled at Nugget and my nuggie got scared and ran away haha. I encounter a lot of haters because he's a bully breed and I use that as an opportunity to educate.

I had a dog before him I was SO attached to. A badly abused rescue pitbull with gorgeous chocolate fur and gold eyes. I loved him with all of my heart. I had to put him down after he started to show serious behavioral problems. It is the single most traumatic memory of my life, one I didn't come out of the same person I was going in. I grieved heavily for months. One day I decided the only way to finally heal was to get another dog, I've lived my whole life connected to animals. My boyfriend and I decided we wanted a bull terrier but I was only willing to rescue. Being a rare breed, I didn't expect to find one anytime some. My very first search and there he was, in a rescue not 30 minutes from my house where he had been waiting for 2 weeks. Unclaimed by an owner and, surprisingly, unadopted by anyone else. I believe firmly that he was waiting for me. I found him on Friday and he was home the following Sunday. He is just a wonderful dog. Sweet and playful. Stubborn as hell (he knows almost 10 tricks but will only perform one and not if you ask him to, just when he wants to!). And so unbearably hilariously stupid. So much personality. His face actually lights up when he sees fresh snow on the ground and he runs outside and does a happy running dance all through the snow.

Animals were how I got through my childhood and young adulthood. They preserved my humanity in the face of some really staggering emotional abuse. It's pretty amazing how something that cannot even speak can find its way so permanently into our hearts. I love watching him sleep because he dreams and will run, bark and growl in his sleep.

pardon the interruption, important post about lavender incoming...

Confirming that the Lavender tastes of Lavender... x2, then squared. If you be lookin for Lavender look no further... The record times for saying Lavender in one post will be this post (Lavender)

Sean, what kind of dogger was Leo? Loved the stories.

Allegedly, also a purebred golden, but I'd swear he had some St. Bernard somewhere way back in his bloodline. He was 2 1/2 feet tall on all fours and about 7 feet long (not including his tail, and god knows he never did - the number of times he cleared the coffee table with one enthusiastic wag and then looked behind himself like "who did that?!"...) and I have never seen any other dog besides a St. Bernard *drool* like he did... that rubber cement consistency drool was all over me (and him) every day of his life, no matter how many baths we both took! It's a good thing service dogs are infinitely malleable when to comes to commands (over and above the ones that they learn at the service dog agency), because the very first day I had him, I had to teach him "clean up your mess!" (he'd made the biggest drool-and-milkbone mess I've ever seen, with a *mini* milkbone, all over my dorm room carpet.) Credit where it's due, however, he knew what I meant *immediately*, and every time thereafter... which was often, since I also couldn't have a drink with ice or pass an icemaker without paying the "ice toll."

Grabbing an extra piece of ice for the standing-on-your-heels, quivering-with-barely-contained-excitement furry behemoth behind you became such an automatic thing that whenever I had new people over, I'd forget to tell them... they'd go to get some ice and then suddenly say, "Uh... I think your dog wants something...."

Me: Oh, he wants ice. Just toss him a piece, he'll catch it... thinks he's Rafael Belliard in fur.
Them: Seriously, just ice?
Me: Yup. What can I say, he's a cheap date.
*clink* *crunch crunch crunch*
Me: Don't forget to clean up your mess, doofus.
Them: Oh my God, he's *doing* it!
Me: He knows better than to leave me a pile of sticky drool to clean up.
Them: He answers to doofus?
Me: And other things. Come here so I can wipe your mug, goofball.
*bound bound bound*
Me: Argh, not on my jeans!

He got me almost every time... absolutely on purpose. Never thought I'd miss being covered in slime. :)

Solar Flare is like a party in your mouth!!! I get Smartees candy with a hint of grapefruit on the exhale. It's bold with 2 flavor shots, and a great palate cleanser when you have the dreaded vapor's tongue. White out is exactly like a white tic tac....nice and minty with just a wee hint of anise or licorice....not too much, just enough.

Yeah I'm thinking white out and solar flare will be the next purchase in line. And blue moo. And...and...AND!!!!

White ice sounds good but I know I love vanilla/menthol and I'm looking to try new things before I get something I know for sure I'll like. I'm really questing for something with a nice pomegranate mix. i can see they have pomegranate in the build your own flavor options but I cannot actually find any MBV flavors that have pom in it. Till I build my collection with a nice foundation, I'm going to stick with MBV because they are so cheap but I really want to find that pomegranate. I also want to try orange dream bar but I made a build your own orange/sweet cream before I saw dream bar and I want to see how that turns out before getting something so similar.

I am in the market for a good tobacco flavor. I actually really liked Blu's classic tobacco cartridges. It's kind of like a tobacco but really sweet and none of the grittier notes in real tobacco, if that explains it. Girly tobacco, it was. They should make that flavor. Non-tobacco tobacco. In fact, I don't think I like tobacco at all haha. I guess it didn't really taste like tobacco, it was just good, at least to an amateur like me! I'm almost reluctant to try these juices in tobacco because the flavors are so much more complex and spot on I'm afraid it'll taste too much like tobacco. I saw someone mention a vanilla tobacco on here...maybe that's for me.
